Answer me this, My new m16A2 clone (80rds so far) will not function will aluminum or steel magazines.
bullet gets pushed up and jams
it however works 100% fine with plastic Mags.
ive tried those same 2 metal mags in 3 different ARs and they function fine.
I've used a different lower, upper, and BCG on my gun and the same 2 mags have the issue.
Pic is with dummy rounds to show the issue.
seriously, what the fuck?
>>32142058
another
when the BCG goes over the round it gets flinged up.
>>32142062
here's the Plastic mag, no issues
functions without jamming
>>32142058
load the metal made fully, slap them around a bit with your hand, from the bottom, the back, the sides.
Round pop up or out? Bent feed lips, bend em back or throw them away. New aluminum GI mags are like 10% each.

Did that, nothing popped out.
Just the 1round moved forward a little.
Kinda disappointing for a $20 e-lander steel mag
You need a heavier buffer tube, the bolt is traveling too fast
What kind of buffer are you using? Post pics
How different are the followers on the magazines?
Do the metal ones all look the same and different from the plastic?
>>32142123
heavier as in a stiffer spring?
this happens worse if the BCG goes slow or fast
>>32142129
it's just a A2 stock and buffer assembly
pic related
>>32142178
also, this issue happens when tested on a Lower with the M4 style adjustable stock.
Jamming is a feature
>>32142178
Yes, try getting a stiffer spring. This will slow down the bolt so that the empty casing has time to eject and the magazine has time to feed the next round
It's either the buffer or the spring, it's hard to tell
>>32142058
>B-but I thought the jamming AR was a meme
>>32142115
pull out the follower and check that it's anti tilt (has long front legs). pull out the follower and spring and swap them with the plastic mag and try again, see if the magazine body's geometry is subtly fucked. i would bet on the follower being weird though.
>>32142400
I already tried
The plastic mags have different followers
They won't fit.
>>32142350
I don't see how that would help.
it'll still do this if you slowly pull back the bolt carrier.
But it won't with Pmags.
>>32142685
>pmag followers don't fit
It sounds like you have garbage steel mags, bro.
>>32142695
Sry to clarify, they arnt the Pmag brand Mags.
But $7 plastic mags.
The follower is a different shape.
That $7 mag functions flawlessly though, while the $20 STEEL MAG doesn't.
Everyone at my local gun shop raves about that steel mag.
It's extremely high quality for and finish wise.
The shop wasnt
able to figure it out, so here I am
Don't buy shit on recommendation from someone who is trying to sell you something.
The steel mags are unnecessary. The HK mags work, but they're heavy and fuck all expensive. I have not seen good things with the Israeli stuff.
If your rounds are running into your feed ramp, either your ramps are not cut correctly (cheap, shitty rifle) or your mags are positioning your top round at the wrong angle (cheap, shitty mags)
Oh, yeah, don't shoot steel cased ammo through ARs
TL;DR: Dont buy cheap, dumb shit and expect it to work like quality gear
>>32142727
Just because fit and finish is good doesn't mean the magnificent dimensionally correct
>>32142380
9 ARs and counting. Only have jams when shooting shitty steel ammo, and thats only in my 20 inch upper.
Go back to circle jerking over sa/k/uya's new dress nigger.
>>32142692
I actually have no fucking idea m8, lemme think on it. Keep the thread alive bois
>>32142769
This is probably true.
But it works fine in other ARs.
I'm gonna try to swap out mag catches and see if the mag is sitting to high in the mag well.
