This, we'll develop an autism gun that produces secondhand embarrassment waves and forces all those in its wake to awkwardly look away and feel uncomfortable.

A flamethrower using liquid fluorine would be interesting, it could possibly even serve as a fireball launcher.
Cold liquids can form self-propelling droplets due to evaporation as they heat up, the effect would be far stronger for a cold liquid which ignited in air, expanding the air around it with heat and evaporating itself faster.
It might be possible to launch a large globule of fluorine which would keep together instead of splitting up into droplets, then skate along the ground while burning violently.
It may or may not explode when hitting a wall, it's hard to say since liquid fluorine has only been created a few times due to being a stupidly dangerous substance, and fluorine chemists are boringly safety-conscious.

That sounds like it would be really interesting.

I wanted to make a magnesium flamethrower. Basically a sandblaster that uses magnesium dust and ignites it then burns shit with flaming metal.
Hell, throw in another stream of aluminum and iron oxide powder so the magnesium ignites the thermite mix.
You'd probably need a welder's mask and a thermal suit like those steel workers use. And some UV protection.
Nailguns
Yeah, there's been a few dart rifles around, but they've only been of the, "didn't offer a vast improvement over current small arms, so nah".
Stabilized steel darts do offer much sectional density and ballistic coefficients higher than standard short and fat boolits.
Tanks have gone to them, of course.
