The point of carrying a weapon concealed is to defend against criminals. An SBR crammed in your backpack is not ideal for defense against criminals, compared to a pistol you can keep in a holster on your belt.

I think it hurts everyone on both sides. For gun owners it makes us look like trigger happy dumbasses and confrontational. Cops and people minding their day don't appreciate added stress. Long Gun oc types are generally seen as snowflakes by my department. pPlus we have transport Rules to/from shooting events only for long guns. We won't swat you but you will have multiple officers pointing full gigity Colts at you if cause a call for service/breach of the peace.

Plus you don't want you rifle sitting in evidence lock up for months on end.
