It's always a tale of two families with my holiday gun talks. When we are at my families house it's all sorts of k/out related stuff going on. From hunting stores to camping stories. My dad will start shitting on 556 and 9mm eventually, then praise 308 and .357. All good fun.

When we go to my wife's family house on the other hand the only gun talk is about banning them. Also no one is laughing or having a good time. Place is on the edge of a fight everytime we are over. The wording for the law over here is basically "use as much force as necessary" If that entails beating the fuck out of them with a golf club or taking their head off with a .308 to prevent them harming you / your family the police generally accept it as a lawful act of self defense. If you left the front door open and some drunk kid walked into your house unarmed and you beat him to death then they would probably look to prosecute.

My father isn't anti-gun, and even has a few grossly mistreated shotguns and a .22 in his safe, but he's vehemently against anyone spending their own money on anything *he* doesn't see the need for, it's comical. I told him I'd be buying my first gun, and when he heard the price of the rifle and the scope he wouldn't stop trying to talk me out of it, or how I might get it cheaper ("What if you get it in a smaller caliber or a shorter barrel/do you really need a suppressor/look here I found this Tasco 4x scope and it's way cheaper than that Zeiss you showed me").
I mean, I'm all for saving money, but it's not like I hadn't budgeted for the gun and glass a few months in advance. Did get slammed with some fees I didn't know about, but I'll have those in mind by the time I get the next one.
On the other hand, I reckon he'll call me up and ask to go shooting once the weather gets nicer and he realises that I haven't bought a POS so he can gloat about being right. As for blonde hair blue eyes and fair skin, those are all extremely common traits for infants. The blue eyes will change in the coming years. The hair will probably fall out and darken. The skin tone will change with time and exposure. If his appearance remains fair and he has a possible bloodtype, then you should probably have a genetic test performed.

If you are trying to discern bloodtypes, then knowing the bloodtypes of her parents and your parents is often very informative. Assuming nobody fooled around, of course.
