Just bought my first rifle today. I was fingering a Marlin 1895 at my local store when the lady at the counter said "hey, we have a used one of those if you want to take a look at it"

Its a GBL model with a Leopold x1.5-x4.0 shotgun scope on it for $800

$700 gun + $300 scope for $800 = good deal

The 45-70s are flying off the shelf in my state because my state just cleared straight walled cartridges for deer hunting so i really wanted this one because it probably wouldnt have been there tomorrow

I ask the lady to wait a day for my check to clear in my checking account so I can use the funds on it. This is what I love about local stores, normally they want 25% down to put a gun on layaway, but because I only needed 12 hours they agreed to take my debit card info and hold it until noon the next day.
I came in the next day and filled out the paperwork

Thing is, I'm a university student who still lives in the dorms, so I cant take it with me. So a rifle is now in my parents house that they don't know about.

No idea how to tell them because:
A. Both of them still don't trust me with firearms by myself even though I've given them no reason to think that
B. My Mom doesn't even like me shooting with or without my Dad
C. They think that with their current financial situation, buying a gun would look weird.

I learned C when I was talking to them about buying a gun last month when my Mom just quit her job

Dad's a School teacher and my Mom is a college graduate but in their words, money is still tight around the house

Well, all you fags might laugh but I just recently bought my first ever gun, an older Jennings T-380ca.

I found the gun in a classifieds site, and met the guy at a fucking McDonalds at the most ghetto town within 100 miles, at 8 PM

Then, as soon as I got the gun home, I took it apart to clean--it was kinda dirty. Never cleaned a handgun before, I was using a Youtube tutorial. I fucked with the trigger mechanism while it was apart, there was a "ping", and the sear and sear spring fucking disappeared into oblivion. Had to wait two fucking weeks for replacement parts to come in before I could shoot it.

Just shot it for the first time this morning, so at least there's a happy ending. It's really not that bad. It's a 380 that's built like a really slim 9mm, feels much more solid than most of what bryco/jennings/jimenez makes.

I used to have a best friend who was just as much into guns as I was. We were poking around online some time around her birthday trying to find the most ridiculous revolvers we could get our hands on. I suggested the Raging Judge Magnum for her since she loved shotguns so much and she suggested I get the Walker because I had a thing for spaghetti westerns at the time. We promised eachother we would get them some day. A few years later she got one and was showing it off to me telling me about how it was her favorite range toy now. Her life was getting steadily worse and one day she called me up on skype and when I picked up I saw her blow her brains out with a shot shell she loaded into her Judge. About a year later I picked up the Walker because I missed her and wanted something to remember her by, I've kept it next to me on my desk ever since.
