Due to the general performance of a shotgun in general, you'd be heart pressed to find any difference, except that the brass shell can easily be reloaded and is less prone to deforming in fully loaded magazines as is sometimes problematic in home defense Saiga12 or Vepr12.

All you have to do is run some Windex through the barrel at the range, and then rinse with boiling water at home (and then clean as usual after). This is not rocket science.

If you mean Hoppes with copper remover (the bronze bottle instead of orange), that would be why. That stuff is pretty good at making salts fuck off. Still, I just rinse with water beforehand and then clean as per usual. It's never failed me before, so I see no reason to stop.

Surplus is a godsend for shit like 8mm Mauser. I can get shit like Turkish surplus for ~25 cents a round (not the 1947 shit that has misfires and split cases either). If you're not buying surplus, you're easily looking at 45 cents a round minimum.

Eh. I bought it to SBR, never got around to it until 41f persuaded me but the stamp got denied because I put the model number down incorrectly. I might file later but my trust has a couple people on it and it would be a huge pain to get fingerprints and photos.

As a 16" rifle it's kind of retarded. Super short sight radius, massive muzzle flash and very loud, slightly more front heavy than a regular AK.
As an SBR with a good brake I imagine it would be a phenomenal small firepower package since 7.62x39 is pretty decent out of a short barrel.

Unless you're seeing pitting out the ass or some nasty rust/wear, you're fine. Windex actually works because it has water in it, so you should be fine. Just be sure to rinse out with water after firing it. It doesn't have to be immediately, but it's good to do it within 24 hours I'd say.
