Lets talk about the shooty and explody /k/ parts of this communist victory.

To be honest, probably because they don't need it, for what purpose? If they face any major super power, they can put up a decent fight for a while, sure, but it's all fucked after that, they don't really have any sort of resources and or funding besides just selling some oil or some shit like that. And it's not like they have a threat of war either. That being said they could always go China's route and issue airshit gear lmao, but that's it.

70 years of nigger-rigging later, you think you do, but you don't.
It would literally be cheaper, faster, and easier to make a reproduction than to restore a car that is 5% original.
And if you only want the frame in order to get vintage/collector/antique plates, then you can just make one yourself and lie about it's age.

Successful revolution, cleans out the criminals, repulses invasion, survives multiple assassination attempts from a superpower that is also paying him rent, gets a sweet deal from another superpower, no internal coups, ran a successful tourist business, got away with the Cuban Missile Crisis, manufactures world's best cigars and died of an old age.

Castro was an epic winner.

This.

I'm a Canadian who restores classic cars and I've been to Cuba. Yeah, there are some gems down there BUT there's also a LOT of junk held together by imagination, Communist parts of unknown quality and origin and bad welding. It would be a colossal money pit trying to put one of those junkers back together properly.

Add to that the fact that cars get passed down as family heirlooms and you have owners thinking they're entitled to stupid amounts of money just because they kept that shit running for so long.
>>
>>32122824

I can go through their most famous victory at the Bay of pigs as a case study of a massive failure. Quick and dirty.

-the original plan was started under Ike with a much wider scope, more groups inside, more military aid provided.

-DGI aka Cuban intel agents were already inside Brigade 2506 as they grouped up

-Cuban intelligence knew of the invasion due to this but only the general idea. At least the CIA compartmentalized it.

-JFK approved it to be much smaller as they were going to do the beach landing at Trinidad.

-Landing at Trinidad would have been hard but closer to the escambray mountains full of anti Castro rebels. Trinidad itself had a large prison and lingering anti Castro sentiment due to this prison. This location alone would have greatly improved their chances. If it went bad they could have done what Castro did during his disaster gamma landing and ran for the mountains.

-JFK decides this would be too "loud"

-beach landing goes ahead for bay of pigs at the last minute

-exposed beach surrounded by swamps

-literally couldn't pick a worse spot

-Cubans ha no idea how this was going to work but figured at least they have air support

-landing is quickly surrounded by a little under a quarter of million Cuban troops

-lol no air support

-quick military defeat and propels Castro as the icon he turned into

It's almost as if someone wanted this to fail.

He lived to die peacefully of old age in the country still run by the government he built.

Florida-cuban exiles will be salty forever.

The dude won.
>>
>>32128600
Communism as a ideology has failed. All of Cuba's allies , especially Chavez's Venezuela are collapsing under the weight of their own "socialism", Castro won. His ideology didn't.
>>
>>32128600
The dude won in his lifetime. Soon Raul and the rest of the gerontocracy will be dead, and with it Communism in Cuba. I admire his tenacity and his ability to keep it together, but he and the rest of Communist Cuba are archaic remnants of a bygone era. The rest of the world has passed them by.
>>
>>32128715

Tbh, any country is a communist country if it is supposedly working towards achieving communism as predicted by Marx.

There really is no set definition of what a "communist country" is supposed to be, except that it involves socialism.

Now, Marxist-leninism has more of a concrete definition and parameters.
>>
>>32128982

It's a fucking joke, m8.

>There is no fucking communist country today.

Yeah, communists are trying to achieve communism, so the 'communist states' could be more accurately described as 'states who supposedly are trying to transition to communism one of these days'. But just summing them up as 'communist countries' saves a bunch of words.

Note that there are marxist communists and non-marxist communists (its a concept older than Marx), furthermore, all Marx did was make predictions. It was Lenin and friends who came up with such things like one-party states and the vanguard party.

Anyways, what is communist and what isn't is actually a really complex subject.

Realistically though few countries ever experimented outside of either the Maoist or Marxist-Leninist lines of government. While I do have a strong dislike of all things communist, I would've found it interesting if some country had decided to do a very different take on the idea and see where that had gone, but then you run into the whole "no true Communism" problem.
>>32129060

There was the various anarcho-communist attempts, but those might not be considered 'countries' per say.

For example.

And also, most modern communists outside of Russia and China and stuff don't seem to have a particular high regard for 'communist states' attempted in the past, like the USSR.
