If you understand some basic principles and can do basic metal work then it is incredibly easy to make a gun full auto and safe

If you are some normalfag who sometimes has trouble field stripping your gun then you can still easily make a gun full auto but it will be full auto only and could potentially fire out of battery

OP I highly suggest you not, not only is it illegal but a complete and total waste of ammo and basically useless at close range.

Filing the sear actually makes the hammer ride the back of the bolt carrier or bolt, which means the round can fire before full-lock up if it has enough inertia.

Otherwise it'll only do light primer strikes and not fire at all.

First, don't take any advice seriously from here, including this, go do your goddamn research.

Second, go Google image "FAL seer".... does that look anything like what a typical AR has in it? There's a reason for that.

There is a way to convert safely, but if you're asking this question, that tells me you should talk to a REAL professional.

Last, full auto isn't an effective use of direct fire, unless you're in a squad of at least 3 people, fighting other humans And unless your AR carries 50+ rounds, still not statistically effective. Two and 3 rounds bursts are usefull in CQC (within 50 meters) but at any range, semi auto is the most effective and economic use of ammunition in almost any scenario.

Of course they shouldn't need the tax stamp at all, but that's not feasible in the current political climate. You need to take it one small step at a time. Even just removing the pre-1986 requirement would be a tremendous step in the right direction, and it's one that's more realistic to achieve than repealing the NFA completely.

They're different styles but you'll basically need some sort of metalworking equipment, and either a block of steel or some thick steel plate and a means to temper it after you're finished bending it into shape.
