Done a lot of travel in china and southeast asia. It's pretty safe, but be prepared for pushy street vendors to get in your face and desperately try to sell you shit. Also lots of con artists, so be ready for that. And carry your shit in a bag that is strapped to your body and keep your camera stowed unless you're using it
