Speaking of glocks, has anyone ever fired or owned one of the long slide glocks?

The 17L (9mm) and model 24 (.40) look like they would be awesome shooters as well as just being interesting guns to add to a collection.

Is the Glock 24 redundant though, now that the Glock 40 (10mm, but can probably shoot .40 too) exists?

I've had my eye on a long glock for awhile, but I never see them anywhere.

Better velocity, better accuracy, more weight so less recoil impulse. If you need a competition gun there's no reason not to get something with the longest barrel/slide available.

I've shot both a 17L and a 34 back to back and they both felt almost identical. The 34 was a Gen4 and I much prefer the grip texturing so I'd have to say it felt better, but the 17L is such a sweet gun I'd totally buy one over a 34 if I could find it in my price range.

Yeah the 17L and 24 have that cool factor big time.

From what I can, tell the g40 is the same barrel and slide length as the g24. It's just thicker because of the big caliber slide and frame I think. And I assume you can shoot .40 out of the g40.

I like the g24 and have been looking for a novelty gun in short and weak for my collection. But the only guns I see online are heavily modified guns well over a thousand bucks.

Unless I'm mistaken about the size similarity, I think a g40 loaded with .40 would deliver the shooting experience I'm looking for.

But it would be no where near as neat at the G24 when it comes to showing my buddies my latest grab.

I saw that barrel when they brought it out and I wondered who would pay that much for a novelty. For that price of that barrel you can almost buy a whole gun chambered in 9X18 and designed for it like a P64 or Makarov. I love the 9X18 but I sure don't need a glock to shoot one just get a 9MM
