As a poor fag with the approaching winter would a flectarn parka keep me warm and looking minamly autistic?
>>
I have one with the liner and it keeps me warm enough in NY.
Camo is somewhat "in" atm with the streetwear crowd so you may or may not look autistic.
>>
>>32103195
>minamly
>>
>>32103195
Not sure where you live and how cold your winter will be?
The parka is not designed to keep you warm. It is a windproof jacket, but not water proof. I'd say it's good for 10-0 C.
There is the "Naesseschutz" which kommes with a "Kaelteschutz" liner. Similar to the ecwcs system of the US Army with fleece and parka. This is what the Bundeswehr uses for cold weather.
>>
>>32103428
Upstate NY so right now we have 17inches of snow and it's 28 degrees out.
>>
>>32103472
you should probably get one with the insulated inserts so it can keep you warm
>>
>>32103195
They do make them in grey. Had one for a while and it was comfy as fuck
>>
>>32103195
not warm, no
>>
>>32103195
ECWCS Gen 2
>>
Get an m65 with the insert and get the Arctic hood and gloves. If that can't keep you reasonably warm you shouldn't be outside

this. just get one of the fleeces. it's even better against rain that that german duck cotton shit. I've been caught by medium rain lots of times in fleece and always stayed dry.

>>

Yes
>>
>>32105339
Fuck
*So you think the liner will be enough.
>>
Military equipment isn't as good as civilian hiking, skiing or mountaineering equipment as it has completely different requirements for use.

Just get a ski jacket.
>>
>>32105339
well i usually wear it with multiple layers underneath keeps me pretty warm desu.
>>
I live in Wisconsin and the parka keeps me warm down to like 20, below that I add the liner and I'm good to 0. I also don't just go outside in the winter to sit down, I am either staying active or just walking to and from my car. The key is nice socks, flannel lined jeans, and a good hat.
>>
>>32105767
Fuck you nigger
>>
>>32105767
My fleck parka is 100% better than my shit burton 3L goretex jacket. Go kill yourself fucking shill
>>
flannel lined jeans are the shiiiiiiiiit
>>
>>32104304
hes an admitted poorfag asking about a $30 jacket, why do you think he's going to get a $75 jacket instead?

OP if you can, check sportsmans guide, they've got several heavy surplus jackets for decent prices, you should be good with the flecktarn parka but you can probably do better.
>>
>>32103195
Flex teen is overhype crap just get French CCE

$79 helikon patriot fleece is heavy fleece and warm as my northface down liner

also have surplus german gortex shell and pants i got years ago $40 for the set

you may just want to get the goretex shell and layer with whatever you want for warmth

t.autist
>>
You won't look autistic if it's the only camo piece you have on you.

Also, even if the camo is ugly, it's really effective and so damn cheap. Nothing to regret for 30 bucks OP.

Thank you! Sorry for not reverse image searching on the first, I found it almost immediately after posting. And now I've fallen into the Wallet Hell of amazon's flecktarn section.

Definitely buying the fleece, yes, that looks super comfy.

I think an alternative to the second is https://kommandostore.com/german-bundeswehr-flecktarn-sympatex-parka/ if you don't want to join Sportsman's buyers club.

I'm still hunting for a good flecktarn plate carrier. None of the top-tier US companies make them in flecktarn (understandably, I guess)...
>>
http://www.keepshooting.com/swedish-m90-military-parka.html

this is what I wear OP, this thing is real nice and warm
>>
>>32110459
I heard kommando store is going out of business, fyi
>>
Fuck I need to lose weight. Nobody ever has GR11 flecktarn parka in stock.
>>
>>32110141
>That thing on the left

Looks genuinely like some 12 year old's airshit
>>
>>32103195

germanfag here

Parka alone over a simple shirt is pretty bad for keeping you warm. It's merely designed to be an overcoat with no thermal use in mind.
so if you plan on wearing a tshirt some pullover and that thing in minus -15 to -20°C you gonna catch a cold for sure.
it works pretty good as an overcoat if you packed yourself dense in 3 layers of clothing.
>>
OP if it hasn't been said already check out fleetfarm's surplus section. If you spend $50 there today you get free shipping, yesterday it was free no matter what you spent.

Here's a parka with the inner liner for $20, so just through in some insulated pants and gloves until you hit $50.

Germanfag, its autistic in public use the flecktarn in Germany?
>>
>>32109497
What size did you get on the fleece? According to the size chart at http://www.military1st.co.uk/bl-pat-hf-23-helikon-patriot-fleece-flecktarn.html I'm a Small measuring armpit to armpit on another top that fits me (Gr. 7 in German sizes), but a 39" chest, which would indicate a Medium. So when in doubt, would you size up?

Just anxious because I'm not sure if I'll get hit with extra return fees to the UK.

>>32110990
Where did you hear that? I just ordered a bunch of stuff from them last week and it shipped fine.
>>
>>32111945
Not the guy you're responding to, but with winter gear it's better to go a size up than down so you can put on more layers underneath.

To the anon who linked to this jacket on fleet farm the other day, thank you.
This thing is great. for a dollar and change, it's fucking phenomenal.
>>
>>32111908
>>32112711

Enjoy fleet farm while it lasts. They recently got bought out by big time jews. They put all the ARs and AKs on clearance along with the Milsurp section which has shrunk by about 1/4 in the last 6 months. Pretty soon it will be all shotguns and hunting rifles and fuddshit like Dick's. It was fun while it lasted.
>>
>>32103195
Wearing camouflage outside of hunting is autistic.
Also parkas are mainly meant for dealing with rain.
So no and no
>>
>>32112830
That's a damn shame.

You wont look autistic if you are wearing a hoody/sweater underneath But if your wearing anything else remotely military - even boots than yeah and remember if you dont feel confident in your clothes than it'll show. Plus you can dye it if the camo is what you're worried about, but idk how.
>>
>>32103272
it makes you maximum autistic tumblrina
>>
>>32111945

42 chest here,I ordered Large, and it is almost like an XL, the euro sizes run a little bigger afaik
>>

Thanks for the advice.
