It'd be 10x easier to just use real ammo to do it, or just get your reloading setup and skip adding components like the primer/powder.

If they were meant to be dummy/practice rounds the primer pocket would have a piece of hard rubber or spring loaded plate for the firing pin to fall on. This would simulate/cushion the blow on the firing pin and prevent damage.

How is putting a spring loaded "primer" any better than just letting the firing pin hit an empty primer hole? You're talking about like 1.5mm of actual firing pen penetration into the primer
