Just bought 4 mags online, and the seller included these keychains. The eye screw is hot glued into the primer hole.
I get the feeling these were meant to be snapcaps, and they make them keychains just to "look safe" (i.e. not look like live rounds).
lol no

won't work as snapcaps with the primer hole empty, they are probably just a freebie meant to be keychains.
>>32096640
I should rephrase, not SnapCaps™, but rather dummy/practice rounds.
Lots of the non SnapCap™ practice rounds, do not include a primer to strike on.

then the standard would be to stamp flutes or drill holes in the case
>>32096758
>implying there is a standard
>>32096798
>we used to have standards
>>32096613
>meant to be converted to snapcaps?
Why?
It'd be 10x easier to just use real ammo to do it, or just get your reloading setup and skip adding components like the primer/powder.
>>32096936
going to LGS, buying reloading setup, buying brass, buying bullets is10X easier than gently pulling on the eyelet loosely hot glued to a cartridge?
>>32096963
just saying, the guy OP bought it from probably has a reloading setup
it might not be easier for (you) but it's probably easy for him
>>32096963
>>32096613
Holy shit, why fucking backdoor it? Snapcaps aren't fucking illegal. Are you legitimately retarded or what?
>>32097213
not gonna weigh in on OPs question, but you forget how retarded noguns can be over something as simple as a cartridged round
>>32096695
If they were meant to be dummy/practice rounds the primer pocket would have a piece of hard rubber or spring loaded plate for the firing pin to fall on. This would simulate/cushion the blow on the firing pin and prevent damage.
>>32098958
That's fair, they are retarded, but I fail to see how, in any way, a snapcap is more egregious or difficult to procure than an actual round with a screw in it.
Jesus, I don't even think practically any noguns knows what the fuck a snapcap is to even try and ban the things.
>>32096613
>hot glued
They're just half-assed keychains. Hope the person that made them isn't the same one that made the mags.
why do people pay for snapcaps? Serious question.
How is putting a spring loaded "primer" any better than just letting the firing pin hit an empty primer hole? You're talking about like 1.5mm of actual firing pen penetration into the primer
