this absolutely did happen and it was quite the experience. Looking back on it now, the mechanics of the whole situation were more akin to that of taking free shots on the dogs that were fucking up our three dogs except for that mangy one which scared the shit out of me.

Either way its something that i'll remember for the rest of my life as feeling like real life interspecies hand to hand combat.

the thing that blows my mind the most is the way the dogs felt and understood that we were going into some sort of life or death skirmish and they absolutely needed to kill or be killed. Since then I have only seen dog fights that end in retreat, but never as incredibly vicious as the way they acted that day.

I do not have the spear, and John doesnt have the mace. we were scared as shit of our parents finding out that all of the vet bills were from our stupidity. We hid the bodies of the dogs we killed along with our weapons and the torn up dog armour until we could bury them all. I am sure if that had been the age of the cellphone I would have lots of pictres to share but that was in 02, 03.
