> what's your opinion on the best survival knife?
I'm trying to find the best knife to go ten days in the bush, hiking, hunting, camping. Want to take as little as possible, so a utilitarian knife would be ideal. Just don't know what to buy....
Whatever knife is your favorite. Don't go for gimmicky shit
honestly if I can red pill you on the survival knife market, a survival knife is really just a sharp piece of steel and pretty much any knife can do
you can save a ton of money by buying one of these cheap chinese knives and use the rest of your money on other supplies

Well that's just it, I only ever buy cheap ones so I can use and abuse. But the edge wears. The metal chips. So I'm willing to spend as long as it will last.

Hmmmm I see, I'll just get some no name brand, save my money.

It sure as hell ain't that small tacticool knife in your pic.

Are you out to survive or playing mallninja?

You might try a Morakniv, cheap steel but not a bad blade.

Anything that isn't stainless steel.
Don't get the ones where the blade edge becomes saw teeth halfway down. Pic related-styled knives are pretty good, where the saw teeth and blade are separate. Before anyone says this is a shit knife or whatever, I pulled this pic off of google because it was the best explanation I could get for the whole saw tooth thing.

Will definitely remember that, cheers

A.K.A an excuse for buying a hardly sharpened prybar to abuse. Get a knife that will be useable for actual knife tasks, something like a Mora, a woodlore style knife like a condor bushlore or woodlaw, or even a Fällkniven F1 or Bark River if budget allows.
