I would actually say they're better than normal jackets. They are a bit thin (when it's colder outside you're supposed to use a liner with the jacket) but they are pretty much windproof, the pockets are fucking amazing and they're german so the quality is well german. Well Russia is a big place. One thing to keep in mind is that not all of the camo worn is issued. There's plenty of manufacturers in Russia who market to troops and there used to be a lot of leeway in what they got to wear (which obviously changed during the last years).
Different branches can also order different camos, specialised troops also wear whatever they want, etc.

That is a cool uniform, though I presume it costs too much since it's a niche market.

I am partial to Russian uniforms, got quite a bunch of them, my fetish is the old VSR (vertikalka).
I'd kill for a Mexican digicamo uniform though.

as for mere aesthetics go, my undisputed favourite is the swedish M90. Camo itself is awesome, although i'm divided on the uniform; for one the pants are fucking excellent. They are comfy AF, indestructible, with ginormous pockets and interface perfectly with boots (like having integral gaiters) about only thing i'd add is duty sized belt loops. The jacket tho, feels like an afterthought to me, too heavy a fabric, no neck closure and awkward AF pockets.

It was pretty nasty. The gum in it had taken the biggest hit from moisture and just seeped into everything. Some of the charms, thanks to being the farthest from the gum and in two wrappers were just fine. The orange one was the best and tasted just like it was made yesterday. The malted milk tablet made my tongue swell and was as rancid as shit can get.

10/10 plan to eat older

Issue stuff always has factory-sewn full color flags, as that's the only officially sanctioned version.
Subdued woodland flags exist as private purchase items, but I've never heard of or seen desert variations.

Fun fact: before the mid-00s, flag patches were only worn by troops on foreign deployments. Then some penpusher in the MoD decided to make them standard issue.
