This depends on what flavor of cool you're going for.

big swinging dick who's kicking ass and taking names, dripping masculinity, alpha male-tier cool? that's going to be a fucking Series 70 colt 1911, a ghost 92FS, MAYBE a really slick CZ 75 but it'd have to be an Omega Convertible or a Shadow Tac II but I don't think you can even get those for under $1,000. it's going to be a classic full size, that's for sure. desu maybe even a fucking delta 1911 for that 10mm.

james bond, understated, calm and collected-tier cool? It's obviously going to be a PPK/S. They're just too slick. I don't know any smaller gun that looks as sweet as a PPK/S.

Well, for conceal carry, you can't use a big round that will go through the fucking guy you're shooting and possibly hurt innocent people, so 9mm or 45ACP are the only good choices.

SAO is pretty dumb for a conceal carry, so 1911's are out automatically. Some variant of a CZ 75, 92FS, or Glock in 9mm or 45ACP are good for semi-automatics. You could pussy out and take some single stack 9mm, but they're all gay, overpriced, and not very nice to shoot.

A revolver is the best option for a conceal carry that you rarely shoot. Nothing will get worn out. It will inherently be more reliable.
