Ruger used to be decent but QC plummeted in the last few years. The reason you will see LCPs on sale from a few months ago until now is that they (Cabelas, Bass Pro) are clearing stock to replace them with the LCP II. If you actually want an LCP then it isn't a bad deal, but it isn't something you should jump on. CC for new shooters is literally the only scenario I recommend a Glock, and now that they make slimline .380 autos they're worth carrying.

Don't bother with "proper training" just practice drawing and putting rounds downrange. If you have questions ask /k/ and google. Shooting is kind of like golf, there isn't any reason to pay an instructor 300 dollars to tell you how to hold a club, anyone can do that. However, once you're actually good at the sport an instructor can really help you improve your swing.

Personally I don't think you need an instructor to CC ever, maybe for something like trap or precision shooting, but it's up to you.

I don't think people should have to have instruction to carry but it is ALWAYS a good idea for a new shooter to seek instruction out.

You don't strike me as the sort of person who knows a lot about training given the post, but even a little information and formal training and familiarization goes a long way, and will help people with safe carry and handling practices.

Without that, you get people buying shitty uncle mike holsters with bad retention for their girlfriends or whatever. The end result is that carry ends up feeling uncomfortable or cumbersome, or unsafe, and they don't do it anymore.

As a bonus, if you are getting a Glock at least not sure about others, you can also get a .357 sig barrel and use the .40 mags with it just fine. Get to shoot a less common meme round for only ~$125 + what you spent on the gun and 9mm mags and ~$125 for the 9mm barrel.

I bought 3 PSA Premium BCGs for $69 each.
MPI and HPT tested with their logo, I think they retail for $100 usually, and even their blem BCGs are not as cheap. They've also got one not MPI and HPT tested for $64, but for $5 why not get the tested one. Shipping was $8 for me, but again, I bought 3.

I also got a Primary Arms Ultimate Weapon Light Gen III from AIM surplus for $69. Not a huge discount from the normal $90 price, but free shipping and I've kinda wanted one for awhile. If anyone has experience with these, let me know. I realize surefire M951s are on sale/cheap, but you can't compare the light output of a stock M951 with the PAWL, and the construction of the primary arms light seems well built, almost even comparable; at least these are all things I tell myself to save money. I plan on putting it on a Dissipator upper with iron sights. Something like that.

Yes, because a lot of the size and weight is in the head.

The diameter of the head is such that even on a super-fat handguard (1.8" OD) it won't clear a Surefire MB556k suppressor.

If weight isn't a huge deal and you don't need to clear a suppressor it's a good value light, though I expect if you're buying a PA-branded light a suppressor isn't in the cards for a while.

Yeah the suppressor is a non-issue for me. It's 50/50 budget and not really interested in them at the moment. Weight is a concern, but I'm thinking with nothing else on a rifle besides the light on a MOE handguard, it should be ok. Every time I see their used inventory online it just pisses me off even more, they're holding a bunch of really nice USGI M1 Carbines hostage for over $2500. Nobody in their right mind is going to pay that much for an M1 Carbine, even if it is all original. They've had them for years and haven't sold a single one, I wonder why.
