Hey /k/ommandos,
What are the practical applications for roller skates/blades in an urban combat situation?
I am much more mobile on roller blades due to the extensive amount of time playing amateur roller hockey in high school. Assuming that the skater can maintain a stable shooting platform, would this be a viable method of infantry movement?

you faceplant IRL and thats it for you.
also combat terrain isn't predictable, and the inability to transition to vehicle easily is a major setback to functionality.
they would only be combat feasible if they could be quickly transitioned to normal footwear mode.
could be kind of neat for airsoft, and civi rollerbading is sick fun.
but you would be really sticking your neck out ever trying this IRL

>they would only be combat feasible if they could be quickly transitioned to normal footwear mode.
and there couldn't be any pause for the transition, combat erupts unpredictably, and crouching for cover isn't as easy in blades, nor is getting up from prone position.
You'll end up in some rubble at some point then your boned.
Pretty cute idea though.

Hhahaaha this is awesome why haven't I ever thought of this. It's like anime mech movement
Ehhy fellow rollerdad here. Just finished my career with asu last year. I miss the ftb moments. Cheers mate

I could just as easily roll or break my ankle in some of that rough combat terrain. A good pair of roller blades provides excellent ankle support.
I can also drive easily wearing roller blades. It's not that hard.

I've also wondered about the effectiveness of tactical bicycles.
Anyone with experience using bikes in any operations?

Hey kids,, oldfag here. Made my first post on /k/ when it was two days old.
This is a warning, There is a civil war coming, sure as the look on your face. Please don't ignore this plea. Spend whatever cash you have on ammo and long shelf life food right fucking now.
George Soros has all his ducks in a row to force an revolution in America, it won't be pretty. Get as much ammo and canned goods set aside as you can in the next few days.
The massive Marxist Socialist network in our nation will not let President Elect Trump take the oath in January. They will do anything necessary.
You can call me a nutcase but you would be wise to heed my words, I've been on /k/ forever and love you faggot ass faggots. Please get ready for what is coming.

Tactical bicycles and segways make more sense in terms of long range and short ranged patrols respectively
Bicycle pros:
>lightweight and fast
>cheaper than motor or electric vehicles
>requires little training that is committed to muscle memory
>can carry light amount of gear and supplies
>japs used bikes to steamroll SEA quickly
>trains cardio
Cons:
>must dismount to shoot
>unarmored
>poorfag tier
>cannot go hands free while moving without almost immediately crashing
Segway pros:
>hands free operation
>faster than a fleeing crook
>can be equipped with a ballistic shield to protect from the front
>can be charged at many places
Cons:
>can't carry a lot of shit
>expensive
>can't handle anything more than flat surfaces
>doesn't train cardio

increase the wheel size to improve offroad performance
British home guard tried them in ww2.

Not if you have slim racing/rain grade tires and a light frame.
You're more likely to slip hydroplane due to breaking hard than riding, but even the slip is controllable if you're experienced enough plus it'll make you very tacticool. Why would you even stop?

I think it'd be pretty easy to over expose yourself by moving into red zones too quickly. Especially since traversing rubble/sticking to the sides of streets where there is often debris/plant life would be difficult with blades on (so you'd be more likely to be in the middle of the road). And then when the fighting starts, you'd be more likely to fall/be unable to reach cover. Also, it'd increase your height so you'd be easier to hit.
All in all, I think it should be reserved for extremely specific scenarios if at all

>must dismount to shoot
if light or no load at all, you can just stop and shoot while keeping balance with one leg, pic related
