There are so many $200-$300 guns out there.
makarov for ccw mossberg 500 for home defense
>>32070369
You know you are literally putting a price on your life by trying to cheap out on a carry weapon
>>32070369
Try Zastava M88a, basically a cut down M70a, close to a commander 1911 in size. The slide mounted safety actually works a-ok, and you can easily mod P38/P1 magazines to fit.
would operate with/10

Because a 55+ year old Russian gun is what you want to trust your life to.

It's not like he can just pull a wad of cash out of his asshole, I've been there and it sucks, so lets help him out a bit huh?

OP, I know it is an old gun, but these are good fucking guns. I would assume you've got a bit more than $250 (factoring in shipping and FFL and all) judging by your listed pistols here, so I recommend you get this and spend the rest on ammo. 9x18 is fairly cheap and its a good round. or as >>32070430 said, the m88a is good too and it shoots 9x19 so it's easier to find.
>>32070430
Zastava is definitely the way to go. It shoots 9X19 so you can start stockpiling for when you save up for a better gun.
That and a shotgun for home defense and you are good to go, or save up and get a 400-500 dollar mid sized gun like the Glock 19 and use it for both.

It goes bang every single time though. Age doesn't matter if the gun is reliable and in good working order. Hell, I'd trust my life to a C96 or SAA from the 19th century.

Ruger LC9.
Definitely not the fucking HiPoint

The amount of fags on /k/ who don't know about the poorfag guide is way too big.

If you're willing to go the revolver route (I can't comment one way or another one it, I don't carry), RIA makes no-frills but dependable .38 snubbies, the M206 series. They're not rated for +p rounds, but multiple people have spoken to the company an gotten the response that while one shouldn't practice with +p, it would handle occasional use (i.e. SD use) just fine. Only 6 round capacity though, if that's an issue.

Don't get the m88a. I made that mistake and the slide keeps locking back even with a round in the chamber. I sent it to the manufacturer to fix it and that did fuck all. Save your money, get something else

Forgot to say, they're about $270 off the shelf, DROS fees amd such included here in price-gouging CA. Should be the same or cheaper in IL I reckon.

bersa thunder 380
many styles
good reliability
recoil much easier than almost all other smallish 380s
great da/sa trigger
S&W SD9, it's a glock clone that goes for 350 USD and is nearly as reliable and way cheaper

>putting your life in the hands of a gunsmith special
buy a proven carry piece that retails for $300-ish but used from armslist or facebook, should knock the price down to $200 or less
