Hey /k/, I'm a /d/eviant but I got a great tip from my girlfriend that she really would love an FS2000 as a dream weapon. She's still talking my ear off while I write this.
Me personally, I don't know the first thing about weapons but I'd love for her to have something really special. How would I go about buying one and what can I expect along the way while trying to do this? Do I need my own permit to purchase this weapon, am I doing anything illegal by giving it to her, etc. thanks in advance
>>
What state do you live in?
>>
>>32066314
FS2000 are OK guns. Most agree they aren't the best bullpup, but it's alright.

As for what you need to own it, depends on the state.
Unless you're outside of CA, NJ, CT, NY, or MA (I'm probably forgetting one), you don't need anything. You just go buy one.
If you ARE in one of those states, you most likely can't own one period.
>>
>>32066314
if true, your gf has interesting tastes for sure. she'll probably leave you for a black dude.
as far as your oringal question, the fs2000 has been shelved by fn. the secondary market is the only place you can find one now. check gunbroker, gently used ones go for around $2k now. preferably find one with a box, itll be a nice collectors piece one day and itll be good to have the whole thing.
>>
>>32066314
FN no longer makes these so you'll be buying what many consider a collectors item. Expect to pay $2,400-$3,000 for one. They certainly have a "cool-factor" to them, but the manual of arms for bullpups can be more difficult to use well without more practice vs a standard AR style rifle.

Here, watch this. MAC is great for gun info.

>>
>>32066406
If you can find one:
You'll go into store, fill out a 4437 (background check), pay for your gun, go home. Gift it to her later.

Answer no to the "are you buying this for someone else" question, even though you're giving it to her.
>>
>>32066314

For the laws in your area go to a local gun store. If you are afraid of the big bad fudds pointing and laughing (they won't) Cabela's or Bass Pro Shop are just as much a gum store as any other.

Most states in this union just require some form of photo ID, a driver's license is fine, and for you to fill out a background check form. This costs like 8 dollars and takes like a half hour to process.

Other states might require more, but the FS2000 is a rifle, and rifles tend to have lax requirements even in cuck states.

Some states like Mass. California, New York view a rifle like the FS2000 as a literal incarnation of Satan and require a lot more bullshit, or it might just be outright illegal there.

To transfer it to another person is totally legal. As long as they don't violate any of the things on that background check you are filling out when you buy it you can gift them the rifle.
>>
>>32066367
IL, you need foid
>>
Also, you'll want to invest in GI mags with upgraded followers. This gun will not accept most polymer/hybrid mags on the market. Magpul E-mags may work, but that's about it.

>Answer no to the "are you buying this for someone else" question, even though you're giving it to her.
This, OP. That's asking if you're buying it for someone who can't buy it themselves.
>>
>>32066367
You forgot Maryland
>>
>>32066321
TN. We're probably fine.
>>32066379
She admitted it's not as cheap or useful as other bullpups but she said it has a design that's ambidextrous, which she is. I have no clue if that's true but that's her reasoning as I understand it.
>she'll probably leave you for a black dude.
Never change, Anon. And thanks for the advice, it helps a lot.
>>32066406
Shit this'll be harder than I thought, but all the more worth it. Thank you!

This.

If you live in a free state where these are legal, here is how it will go down.

>Find one for sale online at Gunbroker or something
>Call a local gun store and tell them you have a weapon coming in under your name
>They okay it
>Buy it online, pay whoever is selling it
>Wait until the gun store calls you and tells you it's in
>Go to the store
>Fill out one of these
>Wait a while for your background check to process (if your not a felon, have a warrant, or beat your gf you will be fine)
>Pay a transfer fee to the store
>Enjoy new rifle

Or if it's just a private person selling it and not a store or anything, just meet up, fork over the dosh, and take your rifle.
>>
Bring your wallet, they aren't cheap.

But as far as the legality goes, there is nothing that prevents you from buying a firearm as a gift for someone, provided they aren't prohibited from owning it in the first place.
>>
It's a shit combat weapon, but if you just want to use it to get her wet, spend your money if you think she's worth it.
>>
one more thing, skip the integrated scope if you can. it adds to the spacegun look but it also adds to the cost. the main reason to just get the plain model is its actually a pretty shitty scope.

Thanks a ton, anon. Incidentally, I guess I have (probably shit)taste for old ass guns too because I was wondering how rare it would be to find a TT33 Tokerav. I just want it for nostalgic reasons. Would you happen to know if that's even harder to come across?

You guys are all fucking awesome by the way, you all saved me a ton of stressing.
>>32066482
It's more that her geeking out about this stuff gets me wet when she gets so passionate. Felt like I met someone entirely different.
>>
>>32066517
Why are you so upset boss? This is a thread about the FS2000, one of my favorite guns and one I happen to own. How am I harming the conversation?
>>
>>32066314
>>32066422
>>32066424

If you're buying it from an online dealer, or from a dealer who has it for sale on a site like Gunbroker you'll want to:
1. Make sure it's legal to own in your state
2. purchase the item or win the auction
3. find a local dealer who will do the transfer and ask them to email/fax a copy of their FFL license to the dealer you bought the rifle from
4. once the seller has payment and an FFL they'll send the item to your dealer who will call you to come in and do paperwork and pay transfer fee.
*This is usually $25-50. Shop around as shipping and transfer fees can quickly add up and negate the money you saved by not paying tax, buying online, etc*
5. Complete 4473 at receiving dealer, pass background, pay fee and be on your way.
>>
>>32066531
You're in luck. Tokerevs are fairly cheap and common.

>>32066591
Tokarevs can be had pretty easily, its paying to feed it that sucks. Ammo can be a pain in the ass to find and is usually somewhat expensive.

You both are awesome, thank you. One last question because I'm a useless faggot who didn't plan ahead. My girl is an Aussie. I plan on meeting her in person to give the gift but is it possible to bring this weapon, even unloaded and whatever else I needed, into the country? Or would I need to bring her here and let her keep it however? I think I've heard that Australia is the No Fun capitol of the world so I'm not sure what to expect.
Pic unrelated
>>
>>32066865
>buying a $2000 rifle for your online girlfriend

And no, you can't even own one in Australia, let alone take one with you over there.
>>
>>32066865
>Bringing a gun into another country

Ya, that's not going to happen. Especially not a FS2000.
>>
>>32066531

Toks can still be had for around 200 bucks most places, but they are starting to dry up now. I love my TTC, it's a very comfortable gun and shoots very well. I buy my Tok food in bulk online and only spend around 16 bucks a pop for a box of 50 rounds which isn't too bad, but it's an uncommon round and the places that do sell it in retail stores generally charge twice that.
>>
>>32066903
>>32066901
Fair enough, I'm a cuck and a faggot. But thank you both again, though. You saved me as much trouble as possible. You're both based.
>>
>>32066865

Yea no, she's not allowed to have it. And I mean that if she were to post a picture of herself on social media of her in the US holding it, she could still get flak for it. The fucking Aussies sent a bunch of their Olympic athletes home from the games and didn't let them compete after some pictures surfaced of them at a gun range in the US.

At best, you can buy the gun yourself and let her play with it if she visits.
>>
>>32066865
so is this post a troll or was the whole thread a troll?
>>
>>32066865
You forgot to mention that earlier huh? No you most certainly cannot just bring a FS2000 into Australia and give it to your internet girlfriend. Dafuq is wrong with you OP?
>>
>>32066960
Sauce on those statements? I don't remember hearing about anything like that in recent Olympics.

I liked shooting the fn2000. It was aight. Tavor felt better imo. I dont really like the weight distribution of bullpups. It was a wierd feeling finding out I liked standard configuration more than bullpup. Disappointing almost.
>>
The f2000 is an extremely expensive 556 nato gun. If it makes you feel like a pimp then its simply worth it.

Aus also banned a US self-defense instructor from entering and doing seminars as that was deemed against the 'greater good' of the country.
>>
>>32066314
Good chance none of your LGS will carry them and FN stopped importing them. You'll probably have to buy them on gunbroker.
>>
>>32067379
Link doesn't work, but I'll take your word for it. My God Ausfags are so cucked.
>>
>>32067414
Basically, they were told they'd be banned if they didn't take the pics down, that the pics are offensive and that they shouldn't post anything so inappropriate on social media that they wouldn't want their mother/grandmother to see.

They're seriously a nation run by nancyboys and soccer mums, hopefully the US dodged that bullet by voting Trump.
>>
>>32066865
Hahaha importing weapons into Aus is nearly impossible let alone guns that are already mega banned. Bolt Actions only in Aus.
>>
>>32066460

I know its her choice but there are much better ambidextrous guns than the BOATMOBILE2000.

Its simply way too fucking clunky and a pain in the ass to give maintenance to.

>Question 11.a. Actual Transferee/Buyer: For purposes of this form, a person
is the actual transferee/buyer if he/she is purchasing the firearm for him/herself
or otherwise acquiring the firearm for him/herself. (e.g., redeeming the firearm
from pawn, retrieving it from consignment, firearm raffle winner). A person is
also the actual transferee/buyer if he/she is legitimately purchasing the firearm as
a bona fide gift for a third party. A gift is not bona fide if another person offered

acquire the firearm for him/her, or if the other person is prohibited by law from

>>
>>32071678
They're quite nice looking on average, they also tend to age well. Not really titty monsters no, at least the young ones. You see some real heavy caliber ones on milfs tho.

>>32071710
Well it's a hit and miss. It's liked for being a bullpup, and a light one at that. A specific negative would be the safety, it only blocks the trigger and not the firing group itself, so there's always the possibility of a discharge when you rack the slide. I've seen a guy empty his entire magazine this way. Also, the fucking charging handle breaks on 40% of the rifles. I broke mine the second they I was issued one. Also it's really prone to jamming with blanks, usually a double or a triple feed. Otherwise a pretty reliable rifle, the sealed design works excellent - very little dirt gets inside, apart from the carbon fouling ofcourse.
The standard optic is a Aimpoint M2, some have an ACOG issued as standard (usually to platoon leaders).
>>
Post sexist bullpup.
