Unless you're talking some border war bullshit with Hong Kong and Taiwan as the staging areas then maybe there would be a stalemate, potentially different independent factions rapidly popping up.

The PLA has a garrison stationed in barracks dotted across the Hong Kong territory but a competent enough insurgency element can cripple their response time and mobility.

It's unlikely that any U.S SOCOM attached personnel would be of any help to any SOF JGSDF/ROK units that would be doing clandestine work.

The HKPD would be ripe for dissenters and potential recruits for the the budding guerrilla commander.

Any student movement or popular protest will be difficult to coopt without risking opsec/infosec

Tactics mean jackshit compared to strategic and operational planning, production and logistics.

You can achieve tactical superiority all day and night, but if the enemy has an immense strategic reserve of war materials and manpower and also the infrastructure to outproduce you the land and space to trade for time and mobilization, than the enemy can simply force you to overextend your supply lines and whittle you down with proper application of economy of force and finally crush you with mass.
