How fast should I be able to draw my CCW? Does it matter that much or should I be more concerned about not fucking it up or gripping low or something?
Do i really need to practice it and be quickdraw mcgraw or am I good as long as I get it out in a timely manner? Obviously it takes longer to draw if your hands aren't on your gun

draw speed isnt as important as shot placement
be confident, place your shots where they need to go
you win

>gripping low
If you're worried about this you need a lot more practice.

Well I mean I havent practiced that many draws and if you try and draw faster than you are able to correctly then you might grip low on the draw and have to correct it. I'm not talking about shooting targets with a low ass grip

I know what you're saying. I'm telling you if you're worried about mis-gripping your gun while drawing & you admit that you haven't done that many draws you need a lot more practice.

You should be proficient enough to draw this fast consistently & confidently.

Don't practice for speed. Practice doing it right, and then do that again and again and again and again.
Speed will come from familiarity.

how often do you guys practice then?

Whenever you're bored, especially if you live alone. I feel silly doing it on a paper target or empty wall so I do it while watching TV when it would be background noise anyways. Waiting on something to cook? Do a couple drills while waiting. Stand and do it during commercials. Draw on the shitty used car salesmen and other fucks on TV.

I have access to a private outdoor club, of which I am a member. So I have a dedicated place where I can do live fire draws/weapon presentations. If there is such a place near you, I would look to become a member as most indoor ranges do not allow draw practice. If you are lucky enough to live in a place where you can shoot innawoods or desert that works too. I aim to do skills practice at least 3-4x/month.

dry fire practice is excellent and will help build muscle memory. Highly recommend.
