Let's hear some fuddlore.

>Carry without a round in the chamber

>magazine springs wear out from leaving mags loaded (most people who repeat this nonsense call mags clips)
>.223/5.56 designed to wound.
>shotguns can't miss
>bullets fit the land diameter of barrel (They don't. They fit the groove diameter.)
>muzzle energy=stopping power
>Glock/AK/revolver/[insert gun here] never fails
>bullet hit a twig
>shoot someone without aiming
>I'll just shoot them in the eyes with birdshot
>leave modern revolvers with an empty chamber
>>
>>32052260
You actually can damage a revolver snapping it closed if your're a tard i.e. every CoD kiddie who wants to play with your revolver.
>>
>>32052260
>you only need 8 shots of .45acp... because shooting twice is dumb
>>
>>32052290
I have done it with my revolvers many, many times and nothing happened.
>>
>>32052300
Considering it's your gun and you know how it works I'd assume you close it normally into the frame. I've seen kids whack it open and shut at odd angles with the force of 10,000 tards and do other retarded shit because they don't know and it's not theirs. I had to replace the arm to my S&W 17 because my cousin fucked around with it slamming it open and close.
>>
>>32052260
>shoot someone in the eyes with birdshot
Do people really think that wouldn't be lethal, if that's what you're implying?
>>
>>32052423
idk, it would certainly be rude. Try it, and let us know the result
>>
>>32052423
Actually, it's more survivable than you think.
>>
>Nazi guns were inaccurate and broke easily because they were invented by the bad guys.

These are some of the same people who say AKs never break or jam when the USSR was "the bad guys" for decades after the Third Reich fell...
>>
>>32052423
Actually, the Fudd who told me this said he wanted to do it in order NOT to kill his enemy so he wouldn't go to prison for murder. In all likelihood, I imagine he would miss, and Tyrone would shoot him with a problem solver.
>>
>>32052471
Fudd's are strange creatures. You'd expect them to go full redneck and not give a shit about some nigger trying to steal their stuff, but instead they have strange unfounded fears and beliefs about things.
>>

+p and +p+ are nothing to mess with
>>
>>32052649
There is no inherent increase in accuracy from a longer barrel. There is a possible increase in practical accuracy if you're using irons.

In some cases, a longer barrel can fuck up accuracy because of harmonics.
>>
>.22 rounds will deflect and rattle around inside the skull.
>>
>>32052656
Ah, so it's related to sight radius or something then? I should mention I don't have any guns, and shoot rarely (and then only cap-and-ball revolvers).
>>
>>32052649
They are. A 18 inch barrelled rifle will be more accurate 'especially at longer ranges' than an 11 inch

Don't forget about good old Double Barrel Biden.

He hasn't shot anyone in the face, then made them apologize for getting shot.
But I think he'd like to try it sometime if he could figure out which end of the barrel goes bang.
>>
>>32052260
Hey edgelord, modern guns do go off if you drop them if they aren't designed to be drop safe. Basically every shotgun is not drop safe.
Snapping a revolver cylinder WILL damage the crane.
Point shooting is a real thing.
>>
>Gotta store your x39 in the boxes because if you pile them up in an ammo can they will crush the rounds on the bottom
>>
>>32052683
Yeah, but chances are if you're picking up your first rifle you're probably going to get one that you can put a red-dot sight on later, so in that case it's pointless.

>>32052696
No.
No.
No.
There have been studies on this. Long barrels do not have a significant increase in accuracy. What they CAN do is provide more muzzle velocity. HOWEVER, that doesn't mean that 20" barrel is going to make a bullet fly twice as far as if it was coming from a 10" barrel. Every inch you cut off you are only getting around 26 - 12 feet per second reduced.

The key is MUZZLE velocity though. A projectile as it leaves whatever launches it, is going to be more affected by the weather conditions and the aerodynamics of the projectile itself rather than the barrel it was shot from. Do bullets shot from longer barrels shoot SLIGHTLY flatter than bullets from shorter ones? Yes. But you are not somehow shooting BBs if you cut 4 inches off.

>>
>>32052738
I think there is a legitimate professional shooter who can reload within a second. He was also using a silly mag holster that stuck out at a weird angle directly in front of him at his waist as I recall. There's gifs of it, I'm sure, but I'm too lazy to go look for it. Google 'super fast reload' and you'll probably find him. Vids of it on Youtube.
>>
>>32052652
Oh, so standard pressures for handguns that aren't 100 years old?
>>
>>32052831
But... isn't 12 Gauge buckshot generally 9mm lead balls going around 1100-1400 ft/s or so from the muzzle or something like that? Sounds quite comparable to 9mm to me, if that's the case.
>>
>>32052872
Terminal ballistics matter more than diameter and energy. Round balls are not as damaging as modern conical bullets.
>>
>use a shotgun for home defense it won't penetrate the walls
>>
>>32052704
thank you for cucking the record.
>>
>>32052872

But they don't weigh 115 grains. 000 buck weighs 70 grains, and there's 10 of them in a shell. Muzzle velocity is 1225 so each pellet is producing about 230 foot pounds at the muzzle

A 115 grain 9mm out of a pistol produces about 420 foot pounds of energy.

000 buck is like getting shot with 5-6 rounds of 9mm at the same time.
>>
>>32052889
>>32052960
So it's wrong because the projectiles are the wrong shame, wrong weight, and has less energy, even though it's of the right calibre and velocity. Perhaps it'd be more accurate to say "it's like getting shot 5-6 times by .380 at the same time". There's probably old cap and ball revolvers out there in .35-.38 cal that can be used in this equation. Ultimately though, I think the statement isn't TOO far off.

As for 000 Buck, I thought standard 12 Gauge buckshot (perhaps 00) had less than 10 projectiles in it. What's the difference between 00 and 000? I'm really not a shotgun kind of guy; I prefer rifles.
>>
>>32052960
Sounds more like it's closer to 9 rounds of 380acp or 9x18 then, not really anything to sneeze at.
>>
>>32053060

000 has 10 pellets 00 has 9 pellets

>>dry firing a gun will damage it
it will if the bolts out on many guns, and you can break a firing pin over time with dry fire.
>>snapping a revolver cylinder will damage it
it will over time.
>>long barrels are more accurate
They generally are but it depends on the ammo if it will make a differnce.(a 24inch .338 lapua will do better than a 14 or 16inch but a 24inch .300 savage wont do much better if any better than a 16 inch).

I broke the tip of my firing pin in my No.4 Lee Enfield once. Getting a replacement pin was no problem, but it taught me to never dryfire a firearm. Always use snapcaps. Firearms like the M1 Rifle are nice because you can decock it by pulling back the bolt a little, pulling the trigger, and letting the bolt forward again. This eases the hammer down instead of just letting it drop. As for the SVT-40 though, you can't do that, and I don't want to leave the hammer cocked in it so I always stow my SVT-40 away with a snapcap in the chamber. Pull the trigger on the snapcap, then put it in the safe. Safe and sound, with the hammer dropped.

It is though. There's a reason the Russians aim for the hips when they use 7.62x39. fudd lore is a system of urban legends propagated by people who know only enough about firearms to feel confident talking about them but not enough to realize how unfounded in reality and fucking retarded what they're saying is. (ie. elmer fudd)
>>
>>32052683
In a rifle, the bullet itself is perfectly stabilized after about 8-10 inches or so. What causes inaccuracies downrange with a shorter barrel is the fact that the lower muzzle velocity leads to lower projectile velocity downrange. This lower velocity means that it is susceptible to being tossed around by the wind. It's not the distance that leads to inaccuracies, it's the amount of time that the bullet is in the air.

The sight radius thing is also an issue as well if you are shooting with irons.

Basically I fire a directly into the ground and the birdshot curves in the air and sails straight into the air to take down a low flying quail.

Shotguns won't even miss if you're not aiming at the target. As long as you know what your target is the shot will always hit no matter the direction you fire in.
