Because it's fun to shoot and work on and tinker with cheaper guns and get a good deal at a reasonable price.

Furthermore, I do have decent guns, and plenty of them.

What state do you live in.
>>
>>32047012
mississippi
>>
>>32047016
Good. You don't live in a cuck state.

>22/45

Good, if you can source a good supply of .22 LR ammo. It's coming back, and should be available everywhere again.

The issue with recommending a gun is that I have a long list of guns that don't suck that are 250 or less, but you have to narrow it down at least to a few parameters.

So, handgun? Rifle? Shotgun?
>>
>>32047029
rifle or handgun. i'll probably buy some targets to shoot at in my yard. i used to have a ruger 10/22 when i was a kid so i'd like something different from that.
>>
>>32047072
>Rifle

At that price point you're looking at well used bolt action rifles, milsurp, and the like
SKS's cost more than 300 these days.

>Handguns

For .22 LR, the Ruger series of handguns can be acquired for around that used, as well as the S&W 22.

9mm, usually taurus or S&W SD9 are in that price range. Don't look at much else.

Stay away from Lorcin, Jennings, and Jimenez

250 bucks isn't a lot of money, but some deals can be had if you know where to look and what to look for.

In general, so as long as you stay away from Jennings, Jimenez, Lorcin, Bryco, Cobra, and other "Ring of fire" potmetal guns, you'll be fine.
>>
>>32047090
cool thanks. i'll probably try to guy a milsurp rifle like a yugo k98 or m48 or just get a ruger 22/45. the 22/45 looks like it has a lot of accessory options like reflex sights and suppressors and shit that would be fun to fuck around with
>>
>>32047090
is the cz-52 any good? i was looking at those and the tokarev tt-30 as well. although i heard trump might remove the russian gun ban or whatever and make the prices go down a lot in the future
>>

far less.
>piece of shit type 53 that doesn't work
>has pieces from twp russian and two chink factories. 4 manufacturers involved because why not.
>no idea if it headspaces correctly or not because string and a couple convenient logs
>drill rack number painted on stock
>shoots okay but you need to beat the faggot open with a convient log
>possibly Albanian export from chink caves
>gauges would cost more than the rifle and there is no obvious defect, rot in safe

Two Jennings J22s, one with the slide safety, one with the lever safety, a Sedco SP22(utter crap), a Taurus PT22(Really good, actually), an Springfield XD in 9mm(I traded this for a gun I paid 250 for), a Llama minimax 9mm(compact 9mm 1911), a FEG Hi power(Paid 225 bucks for it, it had an issue with the safety, which I fixed with solder), a FEG SMC-380(150), A Mosin, a cheap Mossberg 500, and a North American arms .22 LR revolver

I bought my Enfield for about $100-150. But that was all the way back in 1996. Paid $75 for a 91/30 nugget.
>>
>>32047945
If it's a .22 LR? Firstly shoot it a bunch, make sure that the firing pin hasn't created a burr in the barrel to make the casing stick.

Secondly make sure you shoot coated ammo. These guns DO NOT LIKE bare lead, and will cause them to jam

Thirdly clean them often. Like every 100 rounds often.

Also the firing pin on J22s can come too long, so you may have to file that down a tiny bit to create good ejection.

OTher than that? Not much else you can do.

>Any other caliber besides the 22

Throw it in the TRASH.

>>32047634

I got my Mosin and TTC for 200 a pop. Mosin has a really nice laminate stock and shoots well. I love my TTC, very comfortable gun and it's a lot of fun to shoot.

It sucks that I got into guns just a few years too late and missed all the cheap surplus. It also annoys me that I've never really been able to find a gun o pawn shop that even has surplus in it. Most places carry nothing but durr rifles, shotguns and ARs.

I've found one "real" gunshop but they main specialize "the good stuff". They have a metric ass load of M1s, a bunch of them snipers, and a ton of FA stuff. They have one whole display case that's nothing but Lugers and C96s.

They do have a decent looking Ishapore 2A1 for 350 that I'm thinking about maybe getting, but I'd also like to save up and try to find a Swedish Mauser.
