I think two things of this.
One is I bet it really doesn't work all that well.
Two is I would imagine it is absolutely fucking awful to try to steady it unsupported. It just looks completely uncomfortable to handle and the weight would not help.

I've heard those helical magazines are unreliable on the Calico. Can't imagine that they're better on something made by North Korea of all places.
