It's a decent pistol for the money, just a bit of an uggo.

Worked flawlessly for me until about round 250-300, then started getting some failures to feed that were remedied by racking the slide.

Decided to field strip the gun (against what the manual says). Requires a punch to push out a pin, and the slide doesn't lock back far enough to allow the pin to come out completely. To fix this I took a screwdriver and worked a small channel into the slide (not worried about fucking up the gun because it was so cheap). Cleaned the thing. Took 1500 grit sandpaper to smooth out burs in the polymer, as well as the uneven powdercoat on the hood of the barrel and the feed ramp.

Upon reassembly, I launched the recoil spring and guide rod into the abyss. Called Hi Point, told them exactly what happened (that I was being stupid, and nothing was wrong with the gun) and they had new parts delivered in less than a week.

Solid buy. More solid with a little elbow grease. Should've saved money and bought a SCCY

Luckily I have never had to get warranty work on any other firearm, so I can't compare them to anyone. Lifetime warranty, so long as you have a serial number to give them.
Though my dad had the frame of a Taurus break on the first shot, and it took about a year to get the company to accept it for service then get it returned. That was about ten years ago, so maybe they're better now, but killed them for us.

First pistol I ever bought was a fohty. Anyone want it? Otherwise imma skeltonize the slide, paint it gold and stipple eubonics into the grips. I'm thinking maybe deadass timbs themed.

Magazines can be tweaked or replaced, it's not really difficult to get magazines which feed.

As for accuracy, it's straight blowback, if you have a solid grip it should shoot perfectly straight.
