What's /k/'s opinion on Russia's "Ratnik" combat uniform?
>>32041077
It posts on this board too much.
>>32041077
I'm more interested in the Ratnik AK's
>>32041077
What the fuck is supposed to be special about it?
More Ratnik
>>32041138
They now carry 75 % less dog food with them.
>>32041138
it can make russians feel less insecure compared to USA.
>>32041077
Not enough of it available to buy easily
I need to see it on a woman before I can form an opinion.
>>32041211
say no more
>>32041077
It's only issued to a very small portion of the Russian military.
It's just a mediocre clone of Western gear, nothing special.

Either prove what you have said or shut up and get cancer.
shitty copy of US' 00's gear
t. russian
>>32041340
Calm down Vatnik
>>32041077
Its okay gear, but still inferior to Western shit from 2005.
Once again they're a decade plus behind the power curve.

Jesus chill out Ivan, that shits just common knowledge. The only guys using ratnik en masse are the polite dudes since they're in the public eye, everyone else is still wearing 90s-era stuff or earlier, unless they're lucky enough to have gorka.
ITT:
>slavaboos praise ratnik
>ameriboos call it the shittiest gear ever
>2-3 guys who know shit say it does its job but russia is a very poor nation
Your opinion is literally invalid if you don't have a set of it to base your opinions on
The only good thing about Russian kit is the body armor, and maybe helmets.
Everything else is at least a generation behind any kit manufactured in the US.
t. collector of Russian shit
Ratnik is an ongoing trial thing, in the end it's going to be a mishmash of differing equipment everywhere like usual in the Russian army, but nobody will complain because it does the job well enough.
>>32041392
>hurrr durrr digiflora is all ratnik gear
What the fuck does gorka have to do with anything GORKA GORKA GORKA GET OUT OF HERE STALKER!!!!!!
>>32041300
The uniforms are pretty standard, you'll see some guys still wearing older vests but for the most part every one looks uniform.
I'm disappointed in the new AK-12(400), I thought pic related was the best middle ground between the OG AK-12 and the new AK, with a few more adjustments.
>>32042486
Oops.
>>32041077
bretty gud.
btw, here's a good overview of Ratnik:

>>32041138
Basically frontline russian soldiers (with largely soviet era loadout) will now get something equivalent to what an average US army/marine loadout from 10 years ago
>>32042534
>from 10 years ago
hahah... pls do tell what they're missing that US mil gets now.
>>32042147
>>32041402
This. The 6a plates and 6b47 are top tier >>32041891
See above quote, i have a 6b47 and its goat, exactly 1kg but same or better level of protection compared to us helmets which are almost 2kg
>>32042542
Not him but they still don't have standard and widely issued optics and NVGs are rare.
Ear pro is also not very common (not that grunts would use it anyways).
>>32042603
>optics and NVGs are rare.
last time I checked, they're also rare in US mil you doofus.
>Ear pro is also not very common (not that grunts would use it anyways).
Ratnik has earpro. Look at the vid above.
>>32042603
Ratnik actually includes standardized earpro. I think most of the US still works off of foam plugs and bring your owns. Not that foam is bad, but at least make a proper point
>>32042618
>last time I checked, they're also rare in US mil you doofus.
These aren't the 1980s, grandpa.
>>32042618
Never said they were common in the US, the point was that Russians fell behind in the development of NVGs and most NVGs you see in pictures are either previous gen, western, or previous gen scopes.
I never said Ratnik didn't have earpro, they have the GSH-01. They just aren't issued to the level they should be, which wouldn't matter anyways because grunts never use them.
>>32042629
I know, I sold them to you :^)
>>32042678
Kek, nice.
The thing with NVGs and earpro tho is that no one really needs or uses them. Even in the thick of shit in the mid 2000s I don't think NVGs were issued on a mass level. They're just too expensive and better used giving them to people worth a damn instead of grunts. Even most EU countries share NVG tech with us, so no one has really bothered pushing the envelope save for some companies trying to win new contracts and corner the civilian market
>>32042723
>being able to see hajis in the dark that can't see you isn't an advantage
please expand on this?
>>32042723
You're now aware that night vision was used extensively in iraq
>>32043742
>>32042723
Your average 11b or 311 doesn't get nvgs, and never did during the invasion/occupation/afghan conflict. Now you would have at least one guy per platoon(if not more) with night vision optics that could be mounted on his rifle. Of course everyone had/has mounts on his/her helmets so yeah, it could easily be mass issued(in theory) just wasn't.
>>32043827
didn't answer my question how is NVGs not a huge advantage?
>>32041119
The AK-400 is a pretty nifty rifle.
Although I personally like the AK-107 better
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HQSK_DZPX5k
Saiga is also making a civilian version of the AK-400 called the Saiga AK-15, revealed at the Hunting expo this year. (Caигa AК-15)
>>32041077
Welcome to the 90's Russia!
bretty good if you ask me, but 'new' ak is shit, SHIT
izhmas u r fags kys pls, kovrov for life, a-545, not ak-xxx ok

t. reading russian wiki page about it
we are basically cool guys with standard earpros, navigation systems, nvg sights and monoculars, radios and optics and shit

>>32044327
Nigger the russians switched to the AK-100 series in the 90s.
>>32041269
>Woman wielding the LMG
When you want covering fire that's a minute behind you and out of breath...
>>32041077
Does it's job.
Expensive for Russia.
Not mass issued on the level of US equipment.
plz gib potats and wodka
>>32044402
you obviously haven't seen a real russian woman you fucking pleb
>>32044084
>Another AK variant
Didn't they JUST replace the AK-74 with the AK 101 - 3 that they couldnt afford to mass issue so it just went to high profile units? Pretty sure I remember that being a thing. Around the same time as them supposedly getting a decent economy underway then Obongo sanctioned the FUCK out of them and sucked off the Saudis.
>>32044429
No, AK-1xx series was mostly for export, they did adopt the AK105 though.
>101 - full length, 5.56
>102 - carbine, 5.56
>103 - full length, 7.62x39
>104 - carbine, 7.62x39
>105 - carbine, 5.45
>107-109 - counter balance AKs in 5.45, 7.62x39, and, on paper, 5.56; respectifully.
>>32044429
No, They replaced the AK-74 with the AK-74M in the early 90s and completely transitioned to the AK-74M.
The AK-100 series (AK-101/102/103/104/105) are all based on the 74M,
For example, the AK-101 is an AK-74M chambered in 5.56x45
and the AK-102 is an AK-74M with a shorter barrel.
They have been planning on replacing the 74M for a while now, but have never done so
>>32044486
*AK-102 is an AK-101 with a shorter barrel
>>32041077
>tfw ak-12 never
