As long as you never sew on the insignias to pic related, you'll have a pretty sharp and mildly trendy jacket.

I've worn mine for two years, and no one except a German tourist ever pointed it out as being WWII German. I've gotten quite a few compliments, actually.

Just don't be fat, and you'll look good.

I've been wearing an M65 in danish camo for the past 12 years, I fucking love it.
Yea I know, it's only a copy, but a fairly decent one, and the danish camo is sex.

Cool guy that runs a small shop in SD basically by himself. If you went with the other companies, you'd just get the exact same jacket anyway, as it's almost certain they all import from the same Chinese sweat shop. Quality is really nice though.
>>
Mfw I have an original unissued m65 from 1965 in mint condition. Its amazing, u jelly? On a side note, its getting colder and its the heaviest jacket I own, I'm sure the gods will be fine with me wearing it, but will I ruin any collectability if it gets worn in and such?
>>

I dunno, are you gonna sell it? Donate it to a museum?

Might as well wear the damn thing because it doesn't do any good collecting mothballs in your closet because you're afraid it'll get stained.
>>
>>32037101
I got it to wear it last summer, it didn't get cold last winter so I didn't wear it. If its worth any money then ill make a descision, but if not then ill wear it like I intended.

>>32037061

Gavin militaria also sells them, but you can send them your measurements (as provided by a tailor), and they'll make you a fitted one for only 8 bucks more. I wish I did that, because mine's made with beer gut-ed reenactors in mind, so it's HUGE in the belly area.
>>
>>32036934
I sure wish I had the balls for that.
>>
>>32037195
I was scared to death to wear it at first, but you get used to it eventually. Those tourists made me feel fucking horrible, but all I could do was pretend to have no idea what they were talking about.

Originally got it because I was going to reenact and just break it in over the winter before sewing the insignias on, but I could never get a hold of the group, so it just became a regular jacket for me.

I've been needing a new multi purpose jacket and have been looking at pic related as options... on one hand, the flecktarn is cheap, has a bit of swag and i have the option of adding the liner in winter time. On the other hand, the parka comes with the pants and makes for a great outdoors outfit.

what do you think?
>>
>>32037195
>>32037239
I don't know why you'd bother feeling bad, it's just a coat.
>>
>>32037131
You know anywhere that has them for cheaper than 120? I like them but not that much. I can check the local surp store too I guess, but the owner is a skinhead so if he does have one it probably will be expensive.
>>
Whats the best for autumn or weather where it's around 55-60?
>>
>>32037330

I own both. Fleck & liner all the way, bud. I only use my gorka while camping or hunting yotes at night.
>>
>>32037290
unless you are sticking medals and insignias and shit on it, it shouldnt be a problem... its quite trendy to wear military jackets and it has been for a while now.

>>32037333
That was worn by the german nazi army. I know bro, it shouldnt bother anyone and implying one is a nazi for wearing that coat is retarded but we live in a retarded world filled with retarded people, so its natural to be a bit paranoid of wearing it in public at first.
>>
>>32037378
thanks for the tip m8! Will probably go for flecktarn then...

A few quick questions, since you have both:
1.- when camping with gorka, do you need extra clothes to keep warm or just gorka and shirt?
2.- How water resistant do you feel both are?
3.- I suppose the gorka acts as wind braker... is the flecktarn wind resistant too or does it need the liner for it? (wondering effectiveness when riding muh motorcycle)
>>
>>32037399
I mean yeah, I wouldn't wear SS gear, but just a heer coat is fine. Like you said, no one recognises it outside of being military in style. and the people who do should appreciate the historical value of it, or were part of the wermacht themselves.

So screw it, wear it with no shame.
>>
>>32037446

For sure, man.

1. Yes, I wear thermals or LJ's under mine.
2. Honestly, about the same.
3. The fleck parka itself is an incredible wind breaker. But it's useless for keeping warm without the liner. I would absolutely recommend buying the liner, especially if KS has one in your size.

I've also rode with my parka and I had it during a flood Colorado blizzard last year. As shitty and windy things might have been in either situation, I was comfortably toasty inside.
>>
>>32037360
No. You'll pay for it being cheap. Gavin might have the lowest price, but you pay for shipping straight out of Hong Kong.

Or try the Belarusian site, Schusters.
>>
>>32037333
I dunno, being stigmatized in public sounds pretty shitty to me, even if the accuser is a retard.

Then again, fear of being stigmatized in public is how SJWs have managed to get so far...so jury's out on that one I guess.

>>
>>32037659

Hahaha, thanks! I've bought a lot from Ivan and he's given me some good deals and lots of free shit.

But I'm no KS shill. If I were you, I'd buy the parka off Amazon. I'm not sure if they're still cheaper but I bought mine from there because they're the only ones who carry Gr.15 (6'5 & thicc).

See what's cheaper and go from there. If you do go on Amazon, you'll probably find my review and see the /k/ subtle references. It's the highest rated/most helpful one on the "darker" colored parka on Amazon (there's only two listings for them).

ok guys, after reading through the last thread i ordered an Austrian army m65 jacket. Ive heard a few times that these are one of the best m65's out there, apparently they're pretty much bomb proof. Ordered from Europe for $48 AUD in total which i'm pretty happy with. Does anyone else have one? What is different about it from an American m65?
>>
>>32037711
hahahaha yeah i found it... at first i wasnt sure but then the "innawoods" hit me and the murdercube logo killed whatever doubt was still alive. It's 5 dollars cheaper in ks for the lighter one and the ivan doesnt seem to have the darker one which is almost 10 bucks more expensive...it seems like its worth it in style though... imma sleep on it.

That chart you provided in the comment is super convenient too, you really gave me a hand here, you are a true Brommando.
>>
>>32037904
I have no idea how it differs from the US version, but I bought one from a hunting wear stall at a market in a small town in southern France during a holiday and it's a great jacket.
It's a pretty heavy jacket, I wear it in autumn until it starts freezing. I've abused the living daylight out of it and it's still in great shape.
>>

You need to go to surplus stores or get lucky and find one at goodwill. I was really lucky, I ordered it on ebay thinking it was a repro but for what I paid I didn't care. I was pleasantly surprised to find that its an original GI m65 from 1965 believe it or not, in great condition too.

You just need to look, I spent the better part of a month looking and gave up, I was lucky, but you need to be determined because I know how hard it is to find an original for decent price. Spain made them, they're cheap and from what I understand decently made.

Legit peacoats are cozy as fuck, also expensive as fuck, but worth it since you can pass it down to your grandkids. Like the M65 though there's a lot of el-cheapo fashion knock-offs that are dildos. Everytime I pass through Goodwill I see a couple and briefly get my hopes up.

I have the Modox. Comfy as hell, much moreso than my old Splav. I sewed some buttons along the inside and wear it with an M65 liner. The pants have real pockets instead of just pass-throughs, which is nice. On the downside, not very water-repellent, even with a can of Scotchgard on it. Plus, the suspenders that came with it seem a couple sizes too small.

Do not get a DPM/MTP jacket (pic related). Everyone will think you're a cunt, or know you're a cunt when you get asked if you're in the forces or not. All of the blokes in the forces will also think you're a crowbag cunt who wears it to look cool. Get something off the radar like a foreign camo pattern or a solid colour jacket.

Reviews on Amazon should tell you everything, miltec seems good but is lighter than a real m65. Alpha industries are supposed to be the real deal but people seem to think they're shit these days and are no longer made in USA, rothco seems to be a good balence in quality and price.

I'm personally not a fan of modern "tactical" clothing brands, unless you're actually operating. (In which case they might be useful, if they're designed to work around a plate carrier and belt or whatever.)

For "civilian" use I'd get something similar from a normal outdoor brand. REI's house brand stuff is awesome and similarly priced.

Wearing whatever it is that this tag says, I would assume its a size medium. I'm a 5'10" 130lb hungry skellington. The sleeves are about an inch to long, and it is a little large in the middle, it does have an adjustable cord like most parkas do, which helps a bit. Overall its a little bit large on me, but if I could get one in a smaller size I would, because I really like the way it is built.

I bought this used M65 like 2 months ago for 50 bucks, they assured me it was authentic but I was wondering what this flap in the back of the collar is? Its missing it on the other side as if someone ripped it off.

Also, while the jacket itself is great for stopping rain, the cloth itself is very cold, as in it actually makes me feel colder when I wear it, is this normal?

Pic related the flap im talking about

Gorkas a fantastic, they fit over clothes and are meant as a water resistant and windproof outer layer. REEEEEEEEEE

Also, I'm thinking of picking up one of these Italian parkas so I have a cheap jacket to wear around that doesn't look overtly milsurp. Problem is all the sizes are in whatever faggy system Italy uses.

From what I can tell is they just add 10 inches to your chest circumference, which is fine, but I'm not sure if that is counting the parka inside liner or not. I'm a skelly with a 36" chest so I'm thinking of getting the size 48R, but I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to fit another layer under that or not. Should I go for the 50R or will I be swimming in that? I'd probably rather it be a little small than look like a kid in his dad's jacket but if it's too small I just won't be able to wear it at all.

If you're thin and or /fit/, you won't really appreciate the cut of it anywhere you can't get it semi custom made: the ones out there are in American generic sizes and are cut to fit a fat beer gut, and you end up with a jacket that looks kinda shitty on a guy that isn't at least pudgy.

>>
>>32080872

Original M65's come in sizes with two variables. First there's XS-(X)XL which accounts for the fat/shoulder width of the wearer, the second one accounts for the height and varies from Short through Regular to Long (and maybe Super Long?). So a size that fits lanky 7 feet tall skeletors probably exists, could be rare though. Check your local surplus stores or something.

Got this a bit ago at a local milsurp store.
Mainly use it for innawoods, think it's a bit much for public use.
Good against the wet and cold weather of Canada.

Wear pic related without patches.

Pretty good, works and holds ups. Most people like the way it looks, if they ask I just say its German.

Bought this in Cambodia for $22 us. Liking it so far but thinking about putting some patches on it. Anything good not military related?

Also, can anyone identity what it is?

Thanks, it is a comfy jacket.
You can even turn it inside out and it turns into a bag, with some extra space to store stuff.

Can't decide from this, the M43, or the M41. Help.

Also how should I adjust my m65? Is there a manual or something?

Buy a carhartt softshell jacket. Ive worn that thing in the snow and that thing fucking pulled through. Not as expensive as a "tactical" field jacket and lasts just as long if not longer

Looks like an M65.

any kind of military uniforms/equipment look retarded for anything but innawoods.
>>
>>32087736
Its just a jacket at the end of the day, as long as it is sized right for your frame you shouldn't have to adjust it all that much.

As for what you should get, I like the Tropical as a work jacket. Its a medium in warmth, but it has plenty of pockets and the material its made of is tougher and won't get holes/torn fabric like wool or some others. Not being wool also stops people from an immediate Nazi call out, looks and feels like a civvie jacket with a military style.

I particularly like German jackets because, outside of practical reasons, they had a lot more thought than you'd expect put into them when it come to their cut, form, and fit. They look nicer on the body and can pass off with a wide variety of clothing. At The Front's online store is where I nabbed mine from. They have plenty of info on there about uniforms and their history/design (they had been redoing their website so it may still be weird) and their reproductions are some of the best you can get. Expensive, but if you got the money I recomend it.

The boots they have are nice too, especially the US leather Paratrooper boots.
>>
>>32086549
That's neat. If you ever get to a place where multiple jackets are prohibited you can easily smuggle it in as a bag. While giggling manically as you pass the inspectors of course, they'll never know.

Austrian Bundesheer M65.
>>
which one its better the bundeswehr parka olive or the Flecktarn parka?
>>
>>32070818
That flap is to close the collar, you unbutton it from that side and button it on the other, it wasn't torn off of the other side as you supposed
>>
>>32092474
I prefer the old olive parka, but it's easier to get a flecktarn parka and much cheaper.

I tried one on the other day. It seems Austrian measurements are rather off when it comes to chest width (same applies to austrian alpine jacket I've had), so pick a size smaller if you plan to wear it in public. I have a 42 inch chest, and size 96-100 was a much better fit than 104-108 that supposedly fits my measurements. I should add that I haven't got a massive gut yet and because of that your experience may be different.

It's a good jacket and pair of pants like you said. The pants feel fucking great. The suspenders I got were fine but the hooks for them could be a little more sturdy. Especially when you have stuff in the pockets. I'm more of a belt guy, anyway.

Just joining the convo, Gorkas are good for the price but they are a weird niche in between a fabric BDU and an actual Gore Tex performance gear. Theyre cheap for what you get 200-300 USD gets you a full mountain suit. Its tightly woven canvas, not anything synthetic. The stitching is shit so prepare to fix it after a lil while. For size concerns, they run baggy, so err on the smaller side. They also wear like industrial overalls, but the jacket looks normal in public.
>>
>>32099718
Oops, they *fit like overalls. Baggy as shit. Also they make different ones for all seasons, but i would only use the light ones, as they breathe, but will keep you warm, good for rapidly changing but not extreme kinda climates. Its called a mountain suit but its best for cushy Afghan/Sierra/Alpine climates. NOT recommended for real cold weather/rain. Shell out the money for real gear at that point
