Just because halo gameplay has spartans dying from .308 doesn't mean it actually hurts them, they can survive even 30mm. How easy could the chief defeat ISIS alone.
>>
Why does he have black hair on his helmet?
>>
>>32034346
>clearly a hand
>>
>>32033992
Probably pretty easily. If the nigga can take down alien cruisers I'm sure he can handle the dune coons just fine.
>>
>>32034366
its a pompadour
>>
>>32033992
Well, Spartans were designed for defeating 26'th insurrectionists, so it shouldn't be hard

I'm not sold on it because he'd stick out like a sore thumb, but with the level of toughness he displays in those games and shooting ability he'd probably have the plot armor to do it.

One RPG near his feet and he's toast though, just remember.
>>
ISIS has tanks
>>
Can he survive an artillery round?
>>
>>32034543
>>32034570
He's survived the equivalent of JDAMs in that armor

This can go through two feet of solid steel. Is his armour able to withstand that?
>>
>>32034713
yes(and he can deflect it with his elbow anyways).

It would take him like a day

what did he mean by this

Didn't he also survive a fall from orbit?
>>
>>32035259
Sorry I mistyped, .308 in the lore does nothing to spartan armor, that's a game mechanic if anything.
>>
Are they seriously gonna lill the chief?

>Master Chief's armor weighs 900+ lbs and he can still run 55mph with it.
>can bench press 1200 to 1500 pounds easily
>remarkable fighter (could punch someone's head off), marksman, pilot and strategist
>reaction time is superhuman, as his suit uses his thoughts and not his muscles for directing his movements
> bones are near unbreakable
>unlimited stamina and immense durability
>energy shields can withstand many rounds of 7.62 NATO
>if they get through his shields, the titanium outershell protects him from conventional gunfire
>when he's wounded, a biofoam injector in his suit will temporarily fill and seal a wound
>super AI helps him in battle
>sometimes carries an 8 gauge pump action shotgun, each shell firing 15 pellets of 0000 buckshot

ISIS is pretty fucked
>>
>>32034713
His armor is made of thick titanium alloy plus he has an energy shield.
I sound like a total beta fag right now fuck.

But game is primary lore.
>>
>>32034346
Holy fuck my sides, anon.

Once you see it you cannot unsee it.
>>
>>32037029
>But game is primary lore.

Also not true. Books are primary and accurate lore.

Where a plasma pistol can (properly) melt its way through a Scorpion tank and disable it or destroy it on a charged shot and plasma rifles could absolutely fuck up squads of Marines.

Opposed to in the game where Elites die really easily to a dude with an SMG in halo 2.

The books are far more accurate to any suspension of disbelief and the lore found in the Easter eggs and terminals and secret texts found in the game (and the lore in the Halo wars and Reach games).
>>
>>32034570
I am reminded of that book where, during a live fire exercise, he gets Cortana to crunch the numbers and control his suit to deflect a tank shell with his arm.
>>
>>32037115
Didn't that particular maneuver have fuck all chance of actually being successful, and it was his magic luck that made it happen?
>>
>>32035289
He did at the end of H2/beginning of H3 but that was only because he used a piece of the Dreadnought as a heat shield. Without that fragment of Forerunner material, he would probably be just a chunk of molten metal on impact
>>
>>32037176
Master chef is lucky that's why the blue lady pik him
>>
>>32037176
No, in the book it was an AP round he deflected and it worked perfectly fine, with 0 damage to his suit.

The problem being that the UNSC fires purely HE, and the Covenant defiantly don't fire AP. It was more of a demo than anything else, but yeah it worked just fine.

>>32037191
This, even if his shield protected him from re-entry atmosphere friction his speed would have killed him, he probably slowed down to """""reasonable speeds for Titanium future armor"""" to absorb the actual impact (something shields don't do so well).
>>
>>32037218
It may also be attributed to the augmentation. Which allow his body to withstand more Gs.
>>
>>32037218
IIRC there is also a gel in his armor that hardens on ballistics impact and he utilized this as well to absorb the shock. That's why the intro scene into H3 shows his arm held up because his armor was in the locked position with the gel hardened. It didn't relax until that marine hooked up a computer to his helmet and, I'm assuming, prompted a command to his armor to de-lock. Don't take my word for it though, it's been a while since I read the lore but all this info is online
>>
>>32037307
Probably but even if we pretend that he can withstand 5x what a reel hooman can that's still nowhere close to the g's of hitting the ground and full re-entry speeds.

My bet is that mechanically it had to mostly do with slowing down because big metal plate going through the air = no
and his armor taking the brunt of the impact (Like Johnson explains at the start of H3).
>>
>>32033992
RPGs, IEDS, ISIS has some tanks and I doubt chief could handle anything fired from a 2A46 or M256 variant.
>>
>>32037352
spartan armor can withstand nearly any conventional weapons, in the 26th century, I'm sure a spartan can handle that.
>>

>>
>>32038867

The Spess Muhrens ARE demigods. The Emperor and the Primarchs are/were full-fledged deities. The Emperor's armored angels could take Spartans one on one easy. They're bigger, stronger and better equipped. I'll take boltguns over any assault rifle.

Only pre-heresy.
A legion only has one thousand space marines.

>with several miles-long starships
>vehicle support
Exactly, instead of just carrying whatever they need to fight with, space marines have to rely on dinky WW1 tanks to back them up.

>led by more a less a demigod
How well do demigods fare when hit with nova-bombs that make exterminatus look small-time?

>>32038892
You mean the guys who can't fly, can't see in the dark, who's idea of NBC capability is "put on a gas mask I guess" (let alone operate in zero-g or in a vacuum) and whose standard armament is closer to modern rifles than to guided missiles?
The imperial guard are pre-cold war in just as many aspects as they are sci-fi.
>>
>>32038920
1000 Space Marines is a chapter. A legion is made up of many chapters
>>
>>32038920
1000 space marines is just a chapter. a legion is dozens of chapters. (unless you're the pretty-boys).

Not an argument. Also,
>land raider
>dinky
>little

>how do demigods fare against nova bombs
badly. how do mobile infantrymen fare against a cyclonic torpedo? or a virus bomb?

I got the two completely confused.
Though in that case, what is a legion of Master Chiefs meant to mean?

>>32039021
>land raider
>anything but dinky

>how do mobile infantrymen fare against a cyclonic torpedo? or a virus bomb?
Also poorly, but being mere humans and not demigods that is to be expected.

>>32039056
>pussy
Pussy is for faggots who need to get a life and start arguing about stupid shit on the internet
>>
>>32039067
I would say 5000-6000 master chiefs, referring to roman legions. I'm not the anon who said a single muhreen could beat that.

Land raiders are capable of driving around on the floor of an ocean and surviving. There is more to land raiders than just their tiny armour.

right you are
>>
>>32039067
Ugh, that IA still bugs me. They clearly didn't know what they were talking about.
>>
>>32034713

>>

this
>>
>>32039159
Scifi writers shouldn't put out hard numbers, it never ends well.

That being said, the Uplifting Primer says a Tau Hammerhead railgun has the power of a hotshot lasgun and the standard Cadian 40mm semiautomatic grenade launcher has a 20 round magazine.
>>
