I unironically think the Maginot Line was a well thought of plan and in fact worked as it was intended.

Honestly what doomed the French to failure was their inability to improvise or deviate from doctrine, whereas the Germans placed a great deal in critical thinking
>1939, France sends in a task force into Germany in an attempt to relieve the pressure off the Poles. France advances and captures several towns under limited opposition but is stalled by German mines along the axis of advance. As a result, everything gets bogged down and the French decide to pull back across the border to minimize risk. Poland falls and WW2 as we know it begins

Quad turrets are not, and never have been, a good idea.
They had beautiful camo for tanks, uniforms, guns and ships. They had beautiful tanks with said camo and good designs. They had beautiful fighters and sea planes. They had it all but not the tactics and stratagy. but if war was a fashion contest they would win in my book.
France actually has a pretty good military record tho
They were probably more responsible than any other single country for beating the absolute juggernaut that was WW1 Germany and at the end even though they had taken millions and millions of deaths they were still eagerly sending out their military to occupy the Middle East, fight Ataturk, intervene in the Russian Civil War etc

Idk, Germany just used the Schlieffen Plan again. There really wasn't many changes between their WWI and Franco-Prussian war plans than their plans in 1940.
