As a former sonar tech in the navy I can tell you it's pretty damn realistic anti submarine wise

Helicopter flys around dropping sono buoys. If the submarine hapens to be near there or drive by while the buoy still has battery power we'll get and alert and blindly launch ASROC torpedoes in the general location. Then we listen for a hit until the torpedo runs out of fuel.

It's a reasonable approximation of the biggest problem of modern naval warfare. The difficult part is finding your target, but once found they quickly are sunk.
