I'm on my phone so I don't have the images showing it, but they're price-gouging assholes. Even right before this election they were inflating prices on everything.

Fuck them, never buy from them. I feel ashamed I bought the stocks for my ars from them before I knew what they did.
>>
>>32020689
If you like opportunist price gougers, then CTD is your place to buy.

And price gouging is one thing. These assholes cancelled existing orders then raised the prices.

I am on the fence about buying some fiochi 9mm at 229$ for 1000 and free shipping.
Might pull the trigger on it... I need 9mm, 5.56, and 308 real bad boys.
There is a reloading company close to me called american security brass. They ship and do custom order match reloads and bulk second used brass reloads as well. It's 200$ for 1000 9mm, 380 for 75g 5.56, and 500 for 115g 308.
Is this a good deal? The 5.56 rounds I bought in the past never failed must have shot 2000 of them

If you want to turn your gun into a pipe bomb why not just build a pipe bomb then duct tape it to the side of your gun and set it off. Why go through a middle man you fucking nigger.
>>
I don't trust them, the prices on used guns are higher than new ones half the time and the accessories are way too expensive. If I want ammo I go somewhere else. I've seen the same crap on slickguns and grabagun too so there aren't many of those sites I trust.
>>
>>32020798
What about Cabela's? currently they have an insane good price on a gun I want.

Pro tip: go to gun broker, sort by price HIGH TO LOW then go to the last page and scroll upwards. This puts you out of the promoted section and you'll get cheaper guns this way.

Friend of mine has an Ortgies pistol from back in the beginning of the 1900s, it's his only home protection and he planned to test it out on the range with modern .32s. is there any risk of modern rounds being too powerful for the gun to handle, newer powders and all that?
>>
>>32020689
CTD is the virtual version of that fudd gun shop owner that overprices everything and molests prices during panic buying periods. I wouldn't give them any money because they're fucking assholes, but if they happen to have a particular thing you're looking for cheaper than every other website (doubtful), then buy from them if you don't have the same moral reservations that I do.
>>
Why does the Navy put tail art on their fighters, but the Air Force generally doesn't?
>>
>>32023690

They're alright if you can get it used for $200. They have a lifetime warranty that stays with the pistol. The trigger socks but just practice and it's adequate at self defense ranges. Beats a hi point for concealability. Or save another hundred bucks and get a shield.

Which is funny, because the Gander Mountain down in Toledo has a shitload of both new and old stock AR-15's and a few Century AK's. Alright so i bought a compound bow the other day and the draw weight is too high for me. My question is should i keep it and grow into it or should i trade it in and get one with a lower draw weight. Pic unrelated.
>>
>>32024728
They require an enblock clip to shot more than one round at a time. There are also two sizes, 3 & 5 round.

8mm level doesn't use the same nominal bullet diameter as the standard 8mm so reloading is a pain.

Prvi does make 8mm lebel but it is not all that common to find right now. Expect to also pay a premium for loaded ammo (even prvi).

I wouldn't jump at more than $200 on a nicely done sporter. Try to get the price closer to $150.

I'd like to bring a handgun with me when camping. The problem is that I only have a cz75 and rem 1858, neither of which are optimal for what I might actually need it for. Which would be the better option? If the cz is better, what type of ammo should I use? I also have a conversion cylinder for the 1858, so it'd be shooting a 250gr flat nose at 750fps instead of a 140gr ball at 950 fps if that would be better.

I carry Glock 20 and a rifle when innawoods up here in the north, but then again we got monthly bears.

My old buddy who now lives in a southern state carries also a 10mm pistol because they have weekly big and nasty hogs there.

During these last 10 years I have never fired my pistol at a bear, and my buddy has shot one hog with his pistol.

Anyway, with a thick animal with thick skin and fur, you need penetration. With a bear, the bullet needs to sink about two times deeper than with a human. 9mm energy levels can do that certainly, just check out what there is for you.

>>32030467
I've heard that heavy, slow moving projectiles would do better, and that jhp rounds would be a bad idea for 9mm against a bear. Do they make some kind of 9mm flat nose or something? Or would 124gr fmj be best like >>32030542 said?
>>
>>32029198

Mosin Nagant isn't a caliber.
>>
>>32030573

With the 9mm, go with the 124 gr FMJ because black bears aren't THAT big, but you can use a little help getting deep enough to make it work. At any rate, always use solids when fighting dangerous game with a handgun.
>>
>>32030633
Thanks. Just out of curiosity, is there any real difference between 115gr and 124gr? I've noticed that 124gr shoots just a little bit higher and the advertised velocities are slightly different. Why would they make 2 different bullet weights?
>>
>>32030573
>jhp
Jacketed hollow points are designed against unprotected human threat, that is, a couple of layers of clothing and then flesh and blood. From there, it is designed to open up and mushroom in the tissue quite soon after penetration. It (sort of) means that JHP may cause a wound that is maybe too shallow for a thick animal, to cause that excessive bleeding that stop smaller targets.

Of course you may hit it in the brain, in the brainstem or in the heart between the ribs, but this leads to "shot placement" and I don't want to join that discussion.

But, FMJ, copper boolits, hardcasts, and so on.

Any idea what usually causes this? Only noticed after last range trip. Things I did before I started noticing this was installing an ultimak rail, using croation mags with bolt hold open, and testing out holding the magazine while shooting. yeah I might be inclined to agree and that's what I thought in the beginning too but I looked up the Mexican Navy's arsenal and they just don't have them in the marines, but it's mexico so who knows, maybe it just ended up in their hands somehow. It's definitely not a standard M4 though, since the upper receiver and the handguard are integrated
>>
>>32030657

There's more than two bullet weights. Most every caliber has between 2-8.

Heavier, faster bullet = more penetration for a round-nose, and less wound-tract deviation.

So go with the 124 gr.

How to take apart a gun without parts flying away into oblivion?

Just purchased my first gun. Was all proud of no longer being a faggot nogunz. I got it used and it wasn't in great shape, so I got a cleaning kit and cleaned it, using the guidance of the all knowing Youtube. I moved something, there was a "ping", and a spring and the part that catches the firing pin when you cock it--"sear"?--just fucking vanished. Tore apart my whole kitchen, parts are nowhere to be found.

I haven't even gotten to shoot my new gun yet. Replacement parts will take a couple of weeks to get here

/k/ I think I just did a goof

found an old bottle of potassium permagnate lying around
no idea what it was for, so I googled it

apparently it's a crystal antispetic, used commonly for foot fungus

also you can start fires with it if you mix it with glycerine

naturally I could not pass up the opportunity to test something like that out

so I mix it with some water based lube which is basically glycerine and vegetable gum and a sterilizing agent

did not work, mild disappoint
even tried heating the mixture up, no dice

now I have this tar like mix that may/may not violently spontaneously combust and I don't know how to get rid of it

also any idea why it didn't work?

unless you are really wanting to collect russian guns, i might put the $300 into some other undervalued guns currently like the bulgarian makarov or jap arisaka. maybe a finn mosin? ah what the hell just get the hand nugget, the ammo is still fairly cheap

This is purely for academic reasons.

Is there any law that prohibits the conversion of a Semi-Automatic blank firing pistol to a readily firing and rifled barrel state?

I understand that more than a little engineering is necessary to make it work. I'm just questioning if there is any law against it in regards to either its import status or further serialization.
>>
>>32037759

Well, provided that you're not retarded and can get all of the pieces that need to fit to fit, what can go wrong? That's 90% of the battle, right there. But we used to dick around and make stocks at the shop when there was nothing to do or after-hours. Made an SBS stock and a Tommy-Gun stock.
>>
>>32037804

You can legally manufacture your own firearms, but they may not leave your property.
>>
>>32036513
Cancelling processed orders to sell said product at a higher price is a shitty thing to do.
>>
>>32037818
I understand that part.

My question is would 1968 import laws or 922r then apply as the entirety of the weapon is now foreign built other than the barrel.

Other thoughts, since it wasn't imported as a weapon and the law does not allow its importation if it is readily capable of being converted to expel projectiles, does that make it on its face contraband?
>>
>>32037818
Citations please? Genuinely asking, as far as I knew you can manufacture a firearm without an FFL as long as you never transfer it.
>>
>>32037910
He meant it must remain your personal property.

My whole reason for asking is that you can buy a .380 barrel blank of 20 inches for 20 bucks and shitty Ekol Volga pistols for 40 a piece and it would be fun to tinker with them to make guns I can keep in places where a normal gun would be too expensive (inside the toilet bowl, salad crisper, under the house crawl space).
>>
>>32037337
I'm aware of the potential delay time
if I was twice the retard that I am I might have put it in the bin and started a awful fire

Quick question, I'm going hunting for the first time soon. I've shot my rifle maybe 50 times at the range and I'm more than comfortable with it and my groupings are on point. Now I was told by an instructor that you're supposed to keep looking through the scope after you take your shot, which I do. However due to the recoil the scope naturally moves a whole lot and when I take a shot it's always off the target afterwards (at a 100 meters or so). It takes me about a second or two to readjust and get back on target. Is this fine or am I doing something wrong? As far as I can tell everything I do is correct, my breathing, stance, rifle support, etc.

dumb question, to seperate an AR-15 upper and lower, does the bolt need to be locked into battery or does it need to be locked back?
>>
>>32038591

>Our Low Price
>>
>>32040848
Bolt needs to be closed if you take it apart, otherwise the rear of the bolt keeps the rifle from pulling apart.

Can a display gun be converted back into working order? Assuming you convert it to semiauto only.
>>
>>32040811

You'll have to re-adjust to get back on target after a shot from some positions.

I'm a big hunter and I practice for it by going out to the longest fields and valleys near me and taking my shots there. What I've found is that when taking a shot sitting or prone supported, if you'll do a lazy C-clamp you'll get back on target.

The important thing is chambering again and observing because if you're in a 600x300 yard open space and you bounce one through the animal and get a chance to shoot again, do it. Ammo is cheap, following an animal in awful terrain eats dicks.

You'll be fine. It happens so fast and you're so focused on making the kill that you'll go on auto-pilot and surprise yourself.
>>
>>32040992

You mean like the floor models in big outdoors stores?
>>
>>32040811
It just means to hold on target long enough for the bullet to exit the barrel.
Easiest way to achieve this is hold the sight on target "overtime".

I've bought like 5 guns from bud's and have had no issues.

Some stuff takes awhile to process and ship, other stuff ships within 24 hours. Shipping is 2nd day air for handguns I think.

The prices are decent (not amazing) and they do get some surplus/police/recent import things pretty often.

Protip: when buying any gun from bud's first click the price match request button and enter some lower (but still logical) price. Then just type in some other gun website as the source of said price. Bud's will often change to their bottom dollar offer and then you can just proceed with the sale.

Seriously, i've saved on several guns doing this. I saved $60 on a NIB G29 by quoting and linking the the USED price from some other website, which didn't even have the guns in stock anymore.

I'm not sure how their price match system works, or if they even check this shit. Every time i've gotten price reductions, it happens instantly, so there doesn't seem to be any human review of the claims made in the price match section.

Bought some cheap ass air rifle because I can legally plink with it inside my own backyard.

But the barrel of it is looking like pic related, totally bent, probably due to bad handling during transport, some heavy boxes on it, etc. Not so bad as the drawing, just used it to demonstrate the problem. It was cheap as fuck tho' and groups well as iron sights are not affected by the problem, but to add some scope to it would be a shit as the dovetail and the barrel aren't aligned.

What would be a decent way to unbend it a bit? Thought of some big weights on the straight part and some weights on the barrel middle to tip part and go adding and checking until it is more of less straight. Your opinions?

A ton of people here are anti fun, so its hard to obtain firearms in the first place, and all the prices are inflated as fuck. My g19 gen 4 set me back $800ish. Its ridiculous because I want to spend time at the range and practice but its just too pricey to go down and shoot 100 rounds once a week

My grandfather died around 8 years ago and he left behind an SKS in Argentina. Is there anyway to legally transfer it to Argentina or am I fucked?

Whats a "decent" cheap pistol?
And I mean cheap as possible while still being reliable.

Just looking to grab 2-3 for some dropbags, so shit like
>comfort
>ammo prices to an extent, only need enough for 2 mags per gun
>magazine cost to an extent
>not looking like aids
>ect...
means nothing to me, I will 99% probably never use them which is why I don't want to burn too much money on them at all.

Literally the only two things I care about
>very cheap
>decently reliable

What are my options?

>NRA/local pro gun group table manned by people who make you think gun control may be a good idea
Always makes me hate myself when I see someone so truly adherent representing gunowners that I think they shouldn't be allowed to own firearms regardless of the bill of rights.
And they should be sterilized.

Ruger LCP, kel tec P11, surplus euro/slavshit (bud's has CZ 70s w mag for 180, makarovs also exist).

Could also get like 6 or 7 really cheap .22lr revolvers. They would be reliable and if the ammo is shit just go to the next cylinder.

This one costs 124 dollary doos brand newhttps://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/2084_21/products_id/87902/Heritage+RR22B4+Rough+Rider+6RD+22LR+4.75%22+Blued

Can anyone tell me if its worth purchasing grip panels made of g10 to replace polymer grips already on a gun? I understand the grip cut itself is important but is the g10 material itself worth using over standard plastic grips?
>>
I have a 1911 that was given to me, but it's got plenty of rust on/in it, but it's functionally fine, no malfunctions in the 50 rounds I put through it to test fire it. I plan on cerakoting it, but I gotta remove the rust first. Would it be effective to completely take it apart and soak it in white vinegar for a few hours? I heard it's good at removing rust, but wanted to make double sure that it's worth my time to do. I don't give a fuck if it's ugly afterwards as it's getting sanded and painted regardless.

CTD are the shitbirds who were charging $100+ for basic bitch 30 rounders after sandy hook. I can not, in good faith, ever recommend them.

I understand that's how capitalism works, but they're still shitbirds.

Someone wants to trade my Walther PPS M1 for a Glock 22.

Is this a good trade?

Budsgunshop.com. best prices I've seen and they price match

I like mine well enough, but that's just me personally. I used it more when i was younger for rabbit hunting, it holds impressively good spread at distance (35-50 yards). If i had to say something bad about it, it feels a little top heavy which can fuck you up but nothing god awful.

I have 2 pistols a Glock 19 and a SW Shield 9. I want to buy a rifle and don't want to spend a shitload of money.

Are there any options other than:

>SKS: Over priced for what you get apparently (They're like $550 now?)
>AK: Apparently quality control problems, price tag looks like $700 for a good one in burgerland
>Mini 14: Looks like $600-$800, 223 is gay, apparently they have accuracy problems
>AR: I really don't know if I want one, I don't really feel like getting a M&P sport or a Del-ton. They're what like $675-$800?

Are there any other options? I'd like to spend like $450. Or should I just spend more and get the M&P (I really don't want to for some reason)

Honestly, if you think the .223 is gay, you probably won't like the 5.56 that much.

The only AK I've handled was my dad's NPAP. The Yugo cheek slap is a bitch but you can either shave that comb down or do the "NTCH" method. It worked well and surprisingly it was accurate.

I'd save up for a decent AK if you can.

Don't pick anything up/handle at all. If the guy is a piece of shit, just walk away. 60% of the vendors are shit. Only shit from regular gunshops will have realistic prices. There will also only be 1 or 2 deals. My experience with Saxet Gunshows.

I've got an SKS (so original) and I bought a cleaning kit for it. The only thing is that the cleaning rod that came with the rifle doesn't fit any of the attachments. The kit was labeled "SKS" and as far as I know the cleaning rod is original. I use my fathers AK cleaning rod since his bayo lug is cut (post ban sporter) so he doesn't use it. Only problem with that is that his AK has a 16" barrel and my SKS has the usual 20". Even if the kit was made for an AK, the SKS rod should still work with it right? I would think so, but it's not working and my fathers does. What do?

A coworker of mine wants an AR10 in 270 case is too so maybe this dude could have one in 2fuddy3 or .338 Fed. Are the AR-10s in oddball calibers with 24-26" barrels super unreliable?

Found a non-matching K98 last night for 500. Not russian capture, had very faint eagles. I think the code was BCD and 1942, but I can't remember for sure. Did not appear to be a Mitchell's. Is this a good deal?
>>
>>32048705
I think it's a K98, btw. It said Mod. 98 on the receiver.

I don't know a lot about mausers.
