I'm just getting into guns and I'm looking for recommended products.

Preferably they would be effective, safe for all finishes and non-toxic. That last one its not really important. Any suggestions? Been looking aw weapon shield stuff.

Do not use any solvents the are advertised as cleaning rust on a blued or rust finished gun. Bluing a gun is basically a controlled layer of rust.

If you want a solvent that will clear burnt powder, lead fouling, grease, and generic shoo but not ruin finish then just use kerosene. Wipe dry, let it air dry, then oil. Jackasses.

I have an SGL31 with 6,000 rounds through it and I have never cleaned or taken apart the gas tube. Be happy that you have a straight and properly headspaced ak that won't break the fuck down if you look at it wrong.

literally any gun oil. some people even use motor oil, although i wouldn't recommend it. there are rust tests and shit on the internet, look it up.

Yes, but you can wipe down literally every piece of metal in your gun with kerosene. Plus, it's cheap as fuck. I don't know why you would bother with 2 or 3 different cleaning products, juggle which cup is what solvent, and risk mixing things up. Just use kerosene and literally never worry.

Right, I know that, I just keep compressed solvents in jars so I can use a more controlled cleaning method.
It sounds dumb but it makes me feel better to clean a bore by dipping the bore snake.
I do the same thing with my oils.
It also helped me clear some surface rust from a rifle when I used rust remover and q-tips, just poured it in a jar and placed liquid where it was needed.
