Hi /K/, I picked up this Daewoo K1A1 today for only $950. I love the thing but I have a few questions. I put 140 rounds through it and had about 10 light primer strikes. I was shooting Tulammo, but I don't think that's the problem. When I looked at how far the firing pin protruded from the bolt face compared to my AR15, it was just a tad bit less. Should I just buy a new firing pin, or will a new one be the same length? My second question is about what is scratched/etched into the side of the receiver. It says Debusk 456768748, i'm not too sure what that is all about. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Anybody. PLS halp.
try different ammo.
tulammo is notoriously crap.

Thanks for the reply. I shot 40 rounds of brass Winchester which functioned fine, but the primer strikes looked a little light on them as well.
For starters holy shit noice fucking find m8. Especially for the price. The k1s go for on average 2k. Second I own a Daewoo k2 and the daewoo rifles are excellent weapons. I've had the same issue in my k2, it hates Tula ammo but it runs everything else flawlessly. Debusk is probably the importer and the numbers should be the serial. Treat the best Korea rifle well and it will do the same for many years to come.

Thanks for the info mane. It has the serial on the left side which is 018XXX (sorry, not putting the full one on the internet). It says it was imported by Stoeger ind. on the right side. So i'm not sure what the Debusk and numbers are. They are pretty crudely scratched into the receiver.

Only I don't have one, lucky motherfucker you!
from looking at the crudeness of the etching More then likely this gun belonged to a small police dept... or a security company. The name is probably the officer this gun was issued to and the number is probably for the badge number, or the dept records.
I have seen these type of markings before on police surplus / trade in rifles that I purchased / handled in the past. Also it's probably because of the markings is why the rifle was for the price it was as most collectors will want a pristine example safequeen, and I personally love guns with character like this... again good find!

That's pretty cool. Can we see it disassembled?
I'm guessing, but maybe the etching is someone's name and driver license number. Crude, but people do this to tools sometimes.

Maybe the engraving is a last name and Social Security number. That used to be recommended for theft deterence and recovery.

Anyone else here gonna laugh if trump undoes that import ban and we can get these things for like 500-600
