Either that knife ain't 15 years old or it doesn't see much use at all.

any blade that can excise this sense of crippling inadequacy and self-doubt that exists within me is my favourite :)
My favorite is the Helle Temagami, and a new jap knife I got after this pic
my "Western" bowie would have to be my favorite

neat, what does it get used for to get that dirty?
I own plenty of expensive modern knives, but i always end up using these classic folders. especially the carbon ones, nothing else i own cuts better than the Mercator, Opinel and Douk Douk.

Chris Reeve Professional Soldier

would you recommend the Higonokami?
>>31995126
Yes, if only for how cool it is, you can also open and close it one handed which you cannot do with any of the other knives in that picture. it takes an excellent edge but its very thick blade limits it in a lot of ways so id say it is not suited for EDC. I could slice a bit of news paper in half easily but if i tried to slice an apple in half, it would wedge in.

The metallurgical equivalent of particle board.
Hell, why not go all-in? See if you can get some custom Linoleum scales for that thing.
This is my right hand man.
Found at a garage sale, solid steel,
And much much larger than the plastic mall ninja garbage.

Higo is the only one I don't have

>thin blades cut better than thick blades
Holy fuck, who could have imagined!?
What's next, noticing that 99% of dumbfuck folding knife buyers don't actually need 5mm thick sabre-ground "hard use" folding tactical high speed CS:GO knives for EDC!?
Or that an $8 Opinel will massively outperform their $350 "hard use" folder at every single cutting task?!

Dude what ? okapis are easy to open one handed, so are mercators.
Buck knives are easy enough to blade drop.
I get that they don't have a modern thumbstud, but it's far from difficult to one hand them.
