Why do smaller guns tend to be less reliable? Pocket 380, pcket 9mm, all seem to be less reliable? why is that

The stainless ones would/will be pretty, but it's already a heavy piece. Idk if the HD would be a practical compact/subcompact option then, and that's probably why SIG is stalling. They might feel obligated to cut the weight elsewhere, which would necessitate a variation in the components. But at some point it's no longer a 938...

They're stalling because they're too busy producing P238's in gay rainbow colors. I've actually shot a P238 HD and the recoil was so nice. I just didn't like that it was in .380. A P938 HD would make me sell my regular P938 to buy one of the HD's overnight.

The tilting barrel, locked-breech design has a certain way that the mass of the barrel, mass of the slide and weight of the recoil spring need to work together to eject a spent casing and then chamber the next round with just the right timing. Browning originally designed it to work with a totally different size of gun and different power of cartridge. All his .380 pistols were straight blowback designs.

Besides the p238, what is the best pocket pistol? I have a p238 and want to get my mom a pocket pistol but I can't afford another p238 atm.
