So, I'm thinking axes are possibly one of the greatest improvised weapons. You can get a decent hatchet for relatively cheap and they're good for yard work, and should you need a weapon, they would be easy to use. Pic kinda related
So the tool that has also been used as a weapon and has similar forms in their dedicated weapon form is probably the best kind of improvised weapon? Next you'd say that a knife or a bludgeon of some kind are also good improvised weapons.
Machete is better. Just ask the Rwandans.

That and it was readily available because it's a common agricultural tool there.
A machete is fast, yeah, and it's good as a tool when used against light woods, but compared to a tomahawk, it lack the ability to pierce and breach harder targets. Axes also allow for hooking and manipulating in CQC, obviously if you're trained in that. A proper full tang axe has a lot of merit as a tool for urban fighting.

You know what else works really well for urban fighting?
A fucking gun.

Just get one of these and be happy.
Trust me.

I have a considerable folder with them, and good stuff not shit like sog. I may dump if anyone's interested.
>>31987819
please dump
>>31987819
Lets see what you got bro.

>>31987864
where can i get your pic related
I was just going to make a thread about axes!
I want to buy my first tomahawk, but I've never had one so IDK what to buy/look for! I am thinking SOG, is that any good?

I have huge hardon for their gear but I can't cope with the price tag.
Such is life as poorfag
>>31987931
you have these crkt designed by rmj that are cool.
I don't like sog and would rather go with some old school estwing tomahawk
>>31987985
I like these tinny hardcore hardware, they have a faggy name tho, fucking aussies should step up their game.
>>31987819
whats wrong with sog
>>31988096
Tbh I'm just speaking from my ass, I do not really have any experience with them.
>>31988096
It's basically a toy. Stainless steel head, with a shitty plastic handle that gets loose and you can't adjust the fit if it does. If you get a full steel hawk like the CRKT Chogan/Kangee, it's going to be more durable and have utility for breaching. If you get a traditional wood handle hawk you can even make your own handle.
Get a full tang CRKT if you want tactocool entry hawk. Get a wood handled Cold Steel (you'll need to sharpen it though) or CRKT if you want it for outdoors use or throwing.

Wrong. I own two SOG hawks and they've taken serious abuse. They're very sturdy and I'll always vouch for them.
I keep a rattle hawk in my truck
Hawks seem kind of bulky, how are you supposed to carry them readily?
>>31985967
They are top tier, depending on the environment a machete would give it a run for its money
Hammers are also up there just because of availability, effectiveness and the fact that they are less conspicuous than hatchets or machete in many places
All these expensive axes, hatchets, and tomahawks being posted, but what about pic related? A true workhorse tool.
>>31987887
Snazzy.
>>31988135
flatten the back and make sure its length gives enough leverage and can handle the stress of an actual crowbar then I would consider this one.
>>31987931
for your first, whatever.
SOG is actually ok but not /k/ favored at the moment. Estwing is more tool, there's all the specialty companies.
Without training any tomahawk is just a skinny hatchet.
>>31988096
They sold out to China. Even then they weren't that bad until they started plagiarizing from other knife companies. Now they're a shadow of they're former self.
What about the old Lagana design? Does that get any love from /k/?
I like mine, although I rolled the edge on the spike to make sure that I couldn't stab myself with it.
Yall gotta own this baby :) great CRKT Woods Kangee Tomahawk. 1055 Forged Carbon steel with Hickory Handle. Nice spike too ;D
