Not working cause it wont open when the hammer is cocked, which it always is, cause it wont fall past half cock

What's a good 9mm pistol for a poorfag that isn't a hi-point? I bought some ammo before the election just in case, but now I need a gun for it. Max budget is $300, could probably stretch it to 350. I wish I could buy a milsurp Jericho 941r, but I guess I missed the train on those.

Why are free-floating firing pins acceptable?
>impacts the primer when the bolt drops
>allows tiny amounts of dirt to jam it and cause slamfires/runaways
>could be fixed with a tiny spring

Anyone?
>>
>>31983747
Smith and Wesson SD9VE can be had for about $299. It's a Glock copy. So much so that they have to pay royalties to Glock for every pistol sold.
>>
>>31984400
>impacts primer
Doesnt matter as long as you clean your firing pin channel
>dirt

>could be fixed with spring
Could be fixed by cleaning your gun

I havent taken my sks bolt apart in 4 years, still no slam fire
>>
>>31984535
>impacts primer
>Doesnt matter

The firing pin should only touch the primer when the trigger is pulled.

>Could be fixed by cleaning your gun
Yes because everyone can clean their gun at all times. Why is making firearms more reliable a bad thing?

>inb4 complexity

Its a fucking spring, I could make a CAD file for an updated AR bolt in like five seconds.

I was asking why nobody has fixed this problem yet, and if there is an answer besides nobody but me gives a shit.

Nigga pls, its fine, also these guns are designed to use ammo with harder primers anyway
>Yes because everyone can clean their gun at all times. Why is making firearms more reliable a bad thing?

You dont need to clean it often faggot, im sure you can find some spare time in your busy schedule to sit down and clean. Or are you in combat 24/7?

>Its a fucking spring, I could make a CAD file for an updated AR bolt in like five seconds.

Then do it, they sell the springs for a whole bunch of guns, although they sometimes malfunction in aks, i have no idea why, but yea, go ahead.

Sounds like you are pretty ignorant. Lots of industries use laminated paper/fabric phenolics. What do you think printed circuit boards are made from? Phenolic Resins are pretty toxic and expensive, but yeah, plenty of hobbyist micarta makers in the US. (I'm one of them)

I live in the Isle of Man and I am looking into being hasguns in the near future.

I can have a semiauto .22 rifle, and was going to start here before moving up to bigger ones that have to be bolt action. I have to show the police here I am responsible so was going to go that route. Can even have handguns but have to be at a range, that'll be my final aim. Was thinking of joining a club too.

Anyway, for my first .22, what is better value - buying a brand new rifle, or is it okay if I get one that is used for around £50-£100?

Shamelessly bumping
>>
>>31987509

My first rifle was a Marlin Model 60 because I was a poorfag. I think it was $200-ish for the Ruger but the Model 60 was only $120. I figured I would never mod the rifle since I had no money and I would never buy more of the little magazines. Most people said the Marlin shot better out of the box so the Marlin was an easy choice for me. I didn't expect to get into shooting and just wanted something to call my own.

In hindsight, now that I am getting into shooting a lot more I'm going to buy a 10/22 anyway. The tube feed on the Marlin is annoying. Just get the 10/22 although the Marlin is far from a bad choice should you have a killer deal on a used one.

better comparison is 10/22 vs marlin 795
795 is a 60 that take magazines

its like this both are fine but marlin shits all over a 10/22 out of the box
it has a better barrel, sling swivels, and a lastround bolt hold open.

10/22 has endless upgrade potential but you get to the point where youve dropped a grand in 22 and are left worndering why you did that
if you plan to leave it stock marlin all the way

>>

>What are the actual negative impacts of steel case ammo?
"steel" case ammo pretty much has no negative impacts, in most cases the steel used is barely harder than brass, and is way fucking softer than every part of your gun it comes in contact with. As far as I know the only downside is that you cannot effectively reload it.

It's entirely possible, depending on how skilled you are

Not sure. I ended up buying front, back and side plates, and threw in an extra side plate I plan on using for testing. I'll see if a few layers of gorilla tape will contain any spalling. I looked into it more and there is a coating on it to begin with, but it's not very thick.

Either way I'd rather take my chances with spalling than take a bullet through the heart. I can't afford a full set of ceramic plates right now, and I can always upgrade from this later, but for the price I can't really pass these up.

Now I just need a carrier to put them in...

>>
>>31996549
Perhaps you're facing directly at the target, but you should be pointing your left shoulder at it. I figure if you're facing it directly, then your shoulders act as a pivot, so being pushed on your shoulder would skew the rifle's aim to the right. Perhaps if you stood more slanted to the target, it wouldn't skew so much? It could all be in your stand. Personally though, I don't use red dots, and I'm also a big beefy 6' dude, so perhaps recoil just doesn't push me about so much and i don't notice any tendency to go right due to lack of red dots. your right handed, the rifle is going with in the path of least resistance. if you shoulder it left handed, youll see the opposite recoil pattern. shooters sometimes time their muzzle breaks offcenter at the 1 oclock position to counteract this.

So stand more traditionally versus the new tacticool square stance?

Also it's not just red dots, my POA always does a clockwise spin like that between shots. It's not that recoil is kicking my ass or anything, I was just wanting to change up a technique so I can get back on target faster and not have to focus so much on 'timing' the shot

What's a Remington 783, what are its features, and no you're not an idiot for wanting a Maverick 88. It's a $200 pump action shotgun that from what I can tell is very capable in spite of its price. I've handled one once, and it was an enjoyable experience. I'm not even a fan of shotguns but I can see the appeal in the Maverick 88 based on the pricetag alone.

This is some information I have gathered on three of what might be the most popular pump action shotguns in North America

Remington 870
>Pump-release in front of trigger guard
>Cross-bolt safety

Mossberg 500
>Pump-release behind trigger guard
>Ambidextrous safety on back of receiver

Maverick 88 (Manufactured by Mossberg in Texas, as it turns out)
>Pump-release is behind trigger guard
>Cross-bolt safety

Of course there are other differences like what the extractor is like, what the ejector is like, and even the method of unloading the mag tube without using the pump might be different. All I know is I prefer the cross-bolt safety, I prefer the pump release being behind the trigger guard, and I like being able to unload the mag tube without feverishly jerking off the shotgun. I also can't say no to such a good bargain considering it doesn't seem to suffer at all in terms of reliability. Oh yeah, and the method of loading the mag tube is different as well I think. The Maverick 88 has basically a gaping hole at the bottom of the receiver and you just push the shells directly into the mag tube. The shell elevator swings down in the receiver when the slide is brought back.

For someone who isn't all that interested in shotguns, I hope the information I've retained is none the less accurate and helpful.
>>
>>31999906
I tell everyone I see posting about maverick 88, wait for Black Friday. I bought mine last year for $169, before that it was $220. I can only imagine your savings if it's only $200 flat now

Honestly, I think it's cool that some of its parts were made in Mexico. I can say that I held a firearm that was at least in part built in Mexico, and that's cool. The one that I handled was also from the 80s or 90s, which makes it the first firearm I ever handled that I know to have been made in the late 20th century. Don't know why I find such things interesting. I've also yet to handle a firearm made in the 1920s, 1960s-70s, and... possibly 2010s. No wait, QBZ-97. No no, that had an early serial number, so actually I HAVE handled a firearm from the 90s before it would seem. Can't confirm 2010s though. There was that one Robinson XCR at the range once, but that was back in 2011 or so, and I don't know how new it was. Chambered in 7.62x39, and I recall managing to hit a coke bottle at around 50-100m (55-110yd) on the first shot. Pretty sure it was while standing too.

Budget would be around $1k very rough ballpark, it's flexible since I now have plenty of time to save.

I bought a Yugo M48 recently, and everything is in nice condition except the guard screws (the two small screws that keep the two larger screws from turning around the trigger). Steel case ammo is fine. The only reason people grouse about it is because the bullets themselves are usually bimetal alloy jacketed (contain soft steel) which can allegedly wear out your barrel over time. However this damage isn't readily apparent until you've shot something like 10,000 rounds through your gun at which point it's going to be shot out no matter what kind of casing you use.

are you buying for everyone or just you?
I haven't had a nerf war in forever so I don't really know what exactly goes on as far as points or if teams would even hold together or what these days
older 6 shooters should be pretty cheap and don't need batteries so those are good if you need a bunch
I think 6 ready to shoot is the minimum needed for a war, I remember there were ones you had to load individually every shot that had hella springs, but they were only good for distance (do I dare say nerf sniping on /k/) and were easily blown away any time you got too close to kids with more dakka than you
motor-powered ones are really fucking loud and pretty inaccurate compared to springos, buuuuut if you're just buying for yourself, there are ones that can "semiauto" and "auto" fire a shitton of darts
There was this real cheap one I had called the tommy 20 that either fired semi or auto, I think the early yellow one I had was semi, they made a green upgraded one or something, but I heard it was even shittier than the yellow
it was loud and kinda inaccurate and jammed every 15 rounds at least but it shit darts and it shit them fast and my little brother's friends feared my superior dakka
I think that was the best for the money but they might not sell it anymore and if you need it by friday then ebay might not cut it even though the price is real low

the only "calibers" I know of that I remember were the dart-darts in your pic, the more aerodynamic ones that don't stick to windows, and the weird giant shotgun ones that sucked balls
it might be different now

that's all I really know about that

>5.45 is slightly lighter but mags are generally a little heavier than STANAG so it evens out
>Lighter recoil impulse
>Shorter casing makes for easier ejection
>Almost just as accurate

Take a better picture, we don't need to see the bolt and the stock, we need to see where the bolt is touching the receiver.

I assume you tried reinserting it, wiggling it, etc?

Is there something like this that holds ar's and blundergats?

For reasons I need to have a wall mounted rack that holds at least 1 rifle (i can buy multiple mounts) securely enough that I can pull one off the rack without shaking loose any of the others (like what could happen with those plain wooden stands)

Marlins qc has gone down the shitter but the 60 is a really good gun (especially if you live in awb state). I got mine for 140 bucks at the height of post sandy hook panic.

The 10/22 is also a good gun but if it didn't say "ruger" on every thing it would be cheaper. It's a good solid gun with a gargantuan amount of aftermarket parts. The 2 things i don't care about the10/22 is the dovetail rail (which is on all .22s) and no last round hold open. They're a little more expensive than marlin 60s though.
>>
>>31981306

Hey OP did you disassemble your gun prior to the problem
>>
>>32013992

The bolt maybe cocked. Had that issue on some bolt guns.

Decocker the bolt and it should go back in.

Hi anons, sort of new to shooting, and i wanted a second opinion on my groupings, ill be posting 2 different targets.

This one is handguns at 15yds.

Targets 1 and 4 are a ruger american 9mm shooting 147g jhp

Targets 2 and 5 are a colt 1911 45acp shooting 230g fmj.

The center target and random shots were me trying to shoot at 25yds with the 9mm.

Now, im not sure if my groupings are bad or good for the range i was shooting at. Im getting conflicting responses.

This is not bait or trolling, just want an opinion.

2/2

This target is 75yds(max distance at my range). Daniel defense m4v5s 14.5in 5.56mm 55g fmj.

This is 8 groups of 3 shots. I was aiming at center of head, then point of aim was each number and heart.

Since this was closer than a normal 100 or 200yd zero like ive read, should i be getting tighter shot groupings? My rifle is set for a 200yd zero, which i based off a 25yd zero target.

I wanted to ask other people at the range but range was empty that day.

If you want a shoulder holster the surplus leather one is pretty good. The metal clips that latch it to a belt aren't great, but you can slip velcro loops through those and it holds secure. The surplus ostw thumb break is stiff as all fuck. Good luck drawing from it in a hurry. For iwb holsters you could try getting one of these:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Free-Ship-CZ-82-or-CZ83-Custom-Kydex-Holster-IWB-OWB-/251290118885

Otherwise go to a gunshop that will let you try holsters before you buy and see what fits. Normal double stack 9mm mag pouches keep the mags in fine. Other upgrades? Not much. Not +1 base plates, not a ton of aftermarket parts for sights or mag releases. Good little gun tho
>>
>>32015801
I saw one of those wooden racks that someone had built with a pretty strong magnet under the felt. It really secured the weapons and when you pulled one of the rack the others didn't move.

Just an idea you could probably make pretty inexpensively
>>
>>32003625
Interesting way of going about it, but a few notes...

>Germany - glock
Glock is Austrian, not German.

>Mexico
You could just get a Maverick 88; some parts from that shotgun is made in Mexico, I hear.

>Australia
You could try getting an AIA Lee Enfield instead. They make No.4s in .308 and No.5s in 7.62x39 that use AK mags.

>Canada
You could get an M1 Rifle; it was designed by a man born in Canada to Canadian parents.

Another few options are...

Russia - SKS or M91/30

America - M1911 variant

Italian - Beretta 92/M9 or Carcano

Czech - vZ.58/CZ-858 or CZ-75/85

Belgium - Hi Power

Japan - Arisaka Type 38 (6.5x50) or Type 99 (7.7mm)

Switzerland - Sig P226

Germany - HK UMP/USC or HK USP or P1/P38
Good luck on your hunt, anon! Another option for UK, if you fancy getting dirty, is a Brown Bess replica! I hear they make reproductions of it in Italy!
>>
>>31988362
This.

The accuracy out of the box is significantly better on the Marlin, and IMO it's more ergonomic too. The only thing the 10/22 has is cheaper mags.

Seriously the 10 rounders for the 795 are like $35 each.

I'm having trouble with packages getting delivered to my house. I live in a three story row house and other than a mailbox there's nowhere to put them. since I don't know when mail comes I can never be there just in time to receive them usually. Sometimes they get lost in the mail. With amazon this isn't a problem because they just refund me but when I order ammo it would really suck if they got lost. What is the cheapest way to get them sent somewhere else. I am thinking of getting them sent to my job, which would work, but I'm worried about a bunch of gun catalogs coming there under my name. I'm trying to keep my hobby on a need to know basis.

>base gun
$200
>replacement stock and handguard
$200ish
>replacement band, buttplate, and other metal
$50ish
>front sight base and post

>rear sight
$50
>finding somebody who knows how to reinstall arisaka sights, if they even fit on that barrel still
$4-500 including shipping, labor, etc

So after about a thousand dollars and many hours of work and research, you just 'might' have a $250 gun
