What is the best simple, low cost, non-try hard tacticool way to carry 6 USGI or 5.45x39 AK74 mags?

Is it a bandolier, a chest rig, belt?

Who makes something that isn't gonna fall apart (aka no condor stuff)

Just bought one of these, it's sweet. 6 mags in a pretty small package, holster for a sidearm, 2 water bottles. Only downside is that it smells like feet and it's difficult to move things around once you've closed the pins (mine are kinda old and rusty).

Chicom, FLC, ALICE, or cargo pants/jacket pockets.
Chicoms are $10-$25
FLCs are $10-$50 depending on what you get usually
ALICE is like $25-$50 for a full kit I think

Can confirm, I love my 835 which take may extensions without needing a new barrel. Problem is putting a 590 barrel on it means you lose the 3.5" chamber and all the other barrels are 22"-28" long, overbore and $200. You may be able to open a 590 barrel up to 3.5" but I'm not sure, and while mossberg did offer a true 18" for the 835 it isn't listed and you would have to call to confirm. All the 500/590 furniture fits though

>>
>>31982360
Nope, I heard you can stretch them out to get them fit but haven't tried it yet. Might give it a go tomorrow and if that doesn't work I'll get some GI mags.
>>
>>31980570
This chicom pouch seems like a good option, reasonably priced as well. Been thinking about getting one but decided to buy a bunch of $.99 gas mask bags just to use as dump pouch for mags.

>>31980649
I have one of those in desert, well build for the price ($14 new shipped) but a bit uncomfortable for my taste. I always end up with slack in the bare section up past the top rows of molle and it bugs me to no end. Personally use a chicom now, but for a cheap modular system the FLC is very affordable and isn't air shit.

How would a messenger bag do?
>>
>>31984928

Not great, been to a few classes where someone would have a messenger bag or one of those slings that just has one open bag on it and it is very obviously uncomfortable to use.

Like with a thigh rig, moving around is awkward and slow. A full-tilt sprint can't be done since you're using one arm to hold it in place. Once you've stopped and need to grab your mags, your shit has moved around on your body so much that you need to re-orient it before accessing it. Finally, the stuff inside is so mixed up you're fumbling with mag changes.

I did see one guy who neatly organize his messenger bag-like sling so that the contents wouldn't get jumbled around, but all of the other problems were still very present.

Buy a 12 dollar chicom rig and wear a backpack and you'll be more operator than 90% of the gearqueers online.

Seriously why take gear advice from agency salesmen just because they got to take a rifle with them on boy-scout duty?

The honest truth is those rigs came free with the child prostitute they purchased at the local bazaar because the duffel bag of black budget tax dollars they were throwing around was the first non-counterfeit American currency that the 106yr old Ismaili shopkeeper had seen since in his entire life.

Sometimes you've got to sweeten the deal and with all of the warlords and opium traffickers these two planned on shoving in their pockets, there wouldn't be anymore room for magazines.
>>
What would be recommended for Vz. 58 mags?
>>
>>31980570
>best
Look that depends on what your mission and environment are.

Here's a discussion about this: www.lightfighter.net/topic/belt-kit-vs-chest-rig

Basically, belt is better for longer/rural/dismounted ops, chest rig is better for shorter/urban/mounted ops. Belt gets in the way in a vehicle, but chest rig doesn't let you get as low while prone and makes you hotter--the last part being not applicable if you already are wearing plates.

I thought it was well understood that mission should drive the gear, and it's just dumb to believe that there is some universal "best".

Messenger bags. decent at $25-30, don't stand out as blatantly carrying, will hold much more than six mags. they're also currently in style and come in many different colors and materials. you can blend right into that crowd and nobody would even think twice.

They're also acceptable at the office in lieu of a briefcase.

I have personally purchased pic related twice
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002E0MO58/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

the reason for the first one was the fact that after fifteen years of constant use the strap finally broke and it was getting thread bare.

fairly certain this one is a mil surplus out of Israel, one of their paratrooper bags.

basic features are metal clasps (no velcro anywhere)
some metal buttons,
single added pouch large enough to store a full size pistol plus a box of ammo.
three large pockets (one cloth divider, one actually separate)
actually decently heavy canvas (1/8" at least)
original one was made in India.

While this is true, real suspender operators open the belt to full length or close to it and hike the suspenders way up. Pseudo chest riggish. It's a fuck ass ton more comfortable like that with a ruck and when on a knee or in the prone. Also, it's easier to throw over an IBA.

I fucking hated these. Op buy any kind that you feel comfortable in. I use a plate carrier with three pouches. I've used the interceptor and iotv in actual combat operations and that sort of set up provides armor coverage and an easy way to access your mags. The only downside to having gear o mn your chest or belly area is going prone is uncomfortable with a hard plate and mags underneath where most your weight is.

Don't put a bunch of faggot patches or useless shit and make your stuff look uniform.

I have a k9 patch because I deployed three times as a legit explosive detection k9 handler and I earned it.

I'm personally a fan of the responder bag concept:

https://www.amazon.com/SOG-Specialty-Knives-YPM001OG-008-Responder/dp/B00XPV4C7S

You don't have to strap on anything or fiddle with straps, so for the intended use as a sort of first responder tactical bag its great; have mags and then whatever first aid or handcuffs or flashlight or fleshlight in the main pocket and then carry a radio, some chewing gun, condoms, whatever in the end pockets and still hold 6 AR/AK mags and still not loving police it's the D.R.E.

But seriously tho it's also legit because it's just low-key enough that you can wear it in 'public' without drawing undue attention but it doesn't give off any try-hard hipstery leather man-purse vibes either.

It's somewhere between a cartridge box and possibles bag but taken to the 21st century which is pretty cool.

I have a few, for range bags, a trunk-gun bag, and I even use one for paintball when using magfed markers.

Get a couple of standalone buckle straps, and a MOLLE II Sustainment Pouch.

The strap that goes through the top channel is for your shoulder, the bottom strap goes around or above your hips.

Overall cost? Around $25. Much more comfortable and upgradeable than any Chinese POS, while lighter than most military-issue harnesses.

Don't. PMAGs are so pointless.

I don't know why people buy PMAGs and stipple them, when you could just take some skateboard tape or other gritty tape and wrap the bottom of your STANAGs with them, then put on a pair of gloves and do the same to the fingers.

The same-substance contact creates friction, resulting in a very positive grip, while the tape on the gloves prevents the tape on the mags from tearing apart the gloves.

This. Regular ass metal mags with some of that pseudo rock texture spraypaint. Then spray paint whatever color you want over the texture. Gives you a pretry decent grip on mags.

I have like 12 of them set up exactly like it for various guns/loadouts. Add buckles and duct tape and you're golden.

I'm a huge faggot.

It can hold 6 AR mags without modification. If you want to hold 6 AK mags however, you have to cram your six mags in the pouches, then drench the entire rig in HOT water, the pouches will eventually stretch this way. Removing the rubber liners near the top helps as well.

Its an ALICE suspender setup with the buttpouch from an older-generation SMERSH harness in what looks like avizent fabric. (essentially a Russian copy of ALICE).
