bonus points for .44 Magnum
>>31979886
Adorable.
Are .45 ACP conversions of the Webley Mk IV worth it?
>>31980325
i dont know anything about that but i say when in doubt, pig out
>>31979886
Dear /wheelgatgeneral/,
I've been carrying my 1978 Colt Detective Special, which I shoot very well, even with one hand, or even just left hand. I love this gun.
I've been on the fence about picking up a Smith & Wesson 586 L-Comp. It's a 3" performance center gun, 7 shots of .357 mag. ported barrel. reinforced forcing cone, beefed up frame, full length barrel underlug, non-counterbored cylinder. most all parts are forged steel.
I want more firepower, that's why I'm looking at the L-Comp. I can't help but consider the idea of carrying a .44 mag though. Which .44mags should I look at? I want something controllable enough to depend on, yet able to carry.

these are some decent ones,
>>31981015
HNNNNG. Yes 629 Deluxe. Is it distasteful to buy a .44mag in 3" barrel though? I wonder about ballistic performance
>>31981032
i think you forget .44 special exists
>>31981058
I don't want .44special, I want maximum stopping power.
This is a good read on the subject:

I'm already convinced.
>>31981032
and i mean you said to carry, so i gave you carry options. unless you ant winter carry but hell i would go past 4 inches
>>31981073
No these are good choices. I appreciate it.
>>31981070

I was grouse hunting so I was using federal 4 shot defense loads. The grouse hang around the mountain tops until it snows.
>>31981176
.410's.
i have a NAA pocket 22lr- but that doesnt really count as a revlolver to me. im currently browsing gunbroker for a colt detective. they look cool, are in my price range (some of them anyway) and as far as 38spl, this is just a fun gun so i can live with that
>>31981294
.38 special was good enough for the past 200 years of law enforcement
>>31981326
>.38 special
>200 years
do you fags even into stawpin powah???
>>31981352
Get that pussy shit outta here.
>>31981338
well it could have. designed in 1898.
"The .38 Special was the standard service cartridge of
most police departments in the United States from the 1920s to the early 1990s, and was also a common sidearm cartridge used by soldiers in World War I. "

240gr wadcutters don't give a shit about velocity loss. The real issue is muzzle flash
Just bought an armscor m200 brand new on sale for 200 dollars. My first gun because I was fearful of the riots and shit. How did I do /k/? dont make to much fun of me haha
>>31980049
>>31981803
MUH DICK
moar god
hows it shoot?
how do you like it?
is it worth the price tag?
>>31981752
get some rounds through it. i think you did fine though. for $200 new, you arent going to have a lot of pistol options other than a hipoint
>>31981822
its an original stealth hunter from 2000
totally worth it
best shooting 44 mag ever
>>31981861
ive wanted one ever since i found out they existed
Are the dan wesson revolvers pretty good? Being able to change the barrel from 6in to 2in seems really good if i want one pistol to do it all but im worried about it just being a gimmick.
>>31981880
dan wesson is a name you can trust
>>31981894
Im looking on gunbroker and prices seem to be from 400-1500 what's that about?
>>31981947
amount of barrels it comes with and condition probably
the thing about danwessons is they need to be tuned and maintained so you get "broken" guns with easy fixes sold cheap
>>31979886
>>31981752
same here I got the m206. rural king sale?
Between the 686 and 627, which one do you guys prefer?
>>31982097

>>31982081

>>31981844

>>31982097
What is that
>>31982453
Are you seriously calling summer in November? Are you some kind of fucking Australian?
Best .44 coming through
>>31982501
wut gun is dis
>>31982539
its looks like a model 442
>>31982437
Shitty keylock which has no reason to exist.
Supposedly it can lock up under heavy recoil, but I've never seen it happen.
It's easy to disable, you can just take off the sideplate and lift out the lock mechanism, there's basic guides on YouTube. You'll never have to worry about it again.
Now, this leaves you with a gaping hole in the side of the gun, but there's ways to fill/cover it.
>>31980325
Only for handloading, factory .45ACP ammo is unsafe to shoot in Webleys.
Also the bullets are very slightly too small so you get suboptimal accuracy.
>>31982585
thanks man, maybe a small plug of metal or cork maybe. who knows,
>>31982156
Why you do dis?
>>31981176
> the grouse hang around mountain tops till it snows.
> .410 pistol for bird hunting.
So are you legitimatly retarded? Or just really dumb and full of shit?
>>31982156
Soon, anon, soon. President Trump will deliver.
>>31983232
Ptarmigan I shot. I have a lot more pics of others. A Grouse/Ptarmigans defense is to stand still. I just get within about 25 - 30 feet of them and shoot. I've never missed and never had one get away.
What do you guys think about the S&W 640?
>>31984047
> a ptarmigan defense...
Yeah no shit. Basically everyone knows how dumb they are. And as my pervious pic shows I hunt spruce chicken too.
> never missed, never had one get away.
Yeah I've never lost a shooting competition and have an 11" penis. Prove me wrong.
Fact remains your picture is about the worst example of where to find a grouse. And considering your kill is a ptarmigan in the winter. I have to assume your full of shit and shot one one winter, took some pictures, didn't know what to do with it so you buried it out of shame.
Also my .22 usually gets them out to 40 yards. Forgetting your spending way to much on the ammo, imagine how many you could get if you didn't suck at hunting.
>>31984132
I didn't see any the day I took the pic. This was one on a mountain top. I shot it.
>>31984085
i like the design but with a short barrel i rather have 38 spl +p and 40%less weight
so 442 or 642
>>31984251
> shoots grouse
> grouse falls off cliff.
Good job asshole. Stop wasting good game.
>>31984423
I ate it.
>>31984445
Did you soak it in milk?
>>31984461

So I kinda got a boner for the 627, but I saw the model 60 PC in a store and overpaid for it, figured conceal carry first before I get the big daddy. Now I have a boner for the 629. So I will have a whole family of triangular barrel goofy lookin ass revolvers and I love it.
Only after buying did I find out there was problems with the Hillary hole. After removing mine, I am much less concerned about about the little hole and more concerned about the big ass gap next to the hammer from where the little "locked" tab pops up. Seems like some shit could seriously get in there.
Any ideas on a super foolproof way to fill in that area? Best thing I can come up with is literally welding a layer of metal onto it and shaping it up but that would probably result in need a refinish.
If I don't save enough GBP for a 629 soon I'm gonna poopoo peepee tho.
>>31989024
dont have sexy pic of the others but figured I'd provide the pics for the thread
motherfuckin .357 MAG - 8 TIMES
My 1966 Colt Official Police.
>>31989024
>>31989037
thought I had a pic of the model 60 PC but cant find it so instead here is the worst wheelgat pic i have
although i can attest that is is a really nice gun. it seemed like it was small enough to be concealable, which it is, yet decent barrel length to bring the thunder, which it does. only problem I've had is the sights screw literally vanished once and the sights fell off. currently held on with an ecig RDA screw until I find a good screw. Considering replacing both sights with something better and trying to decide on some better grips, grips werent very nice, much nicer grips on the 627 and 629. I paid $900 for it a few years ago and its like $700 now :\
>>31989037
i know what you mkean friend, i have a hard on for these

>>31991004
you would unequivocally be the largest fucking faggot on 4chan
a regular one is fine
how much????
>>31984666
That's one of the new 586s, right? How does it compare to the old ones?
>>31991004
As a huge revolver fan I could only justify this if I had a nice collection, had a lot of money, or REALLY REALLY had a boner for it. A really fucking big boner. I buy guns just based on boners only sometimes but for this fucking thing that shit better be rock hard. If I didn't meet this criterion I would buy a nicer, or more useful, or whatever, revolver that I also really want.
>>31989301
>buys a fucking chiappa in .40s&w
>>31979886
I want one so bad
>>31982539
>>31982567

>>31982585
If you are handloading Webley and not using the right bullets you are retarded
>>31981373
That's still only a little over 100 years
.38 caliber has been around for 200 years tho
I wanna buy the ruger sp101 .357 4.2" but I want it in black. Do they make that? Idk why but I want one or another 4.2" revolver of similar style because man is it sexy as fuck
>>31991032
Why's that? And about a grand
>>31991103
I feel my collection is so generic, I need more showy pieces. And it makes me rock hard
>>31979886
maybe someoen can help me.
I have inherited a 1892 Army Navy revolver, .38spl,
Colt, SN: 2085
Value?
>>31992392
>do they make one with a black finish?
ruger currently only makes the sp101 all stainless
...they do make a black cerakote model..snub barrel, though
