The G36 is pretty good.
It sucks if it gets used as LMG because the army has not enough machine guns within the infantry units.
For police duty, i don't see any issues. (And they get, as Anon said, probably the shorter/newer versions anyway).

>>
>>31975599

Nah. That is normal democracy. People being angry and blowing off steam in the streets. We had the same for so many other events, irregardless of political direction. Remember occupy? Social reforms and shit like that? People always protest, but after a few weeks, months at best the intensity goes back drastically. And after some years it's forgotten or reduced to a few dozen people. Don't worry.

Nice setting for some rooftop Koreans though.

>>

>>
>>31976147
Having the right to protest is what allows for western countries to have civilized transfers of power and not turn into a blood bath like it does in most other countries. The change from Obama to Trump is equal to change from Shah to Khomeini.

Also while I don't have a problem with guns, I am here of /k/ after all. There is no place for guns in democratic discourse. Going around with guns demanding something is not good, especially if the focus of the protest is on "look at me, I have a gun". It damages the democratic foundation of a society and opens the door for violence which is bad in every way.

For some reason people seam to forget that democracy is not shouting louder over your opponent but allowing everyone to express their opinions before making a conclusion that, while not having a consensus in support, does have a consensus in acceptance.
>>
>>31976246
Politics is out of the barrel of the gun.

It's that simple, without guns, democracy means nothing.
>>
>>31976123

Weird round up from Sat as we roll into Sunday. Starting off in Hama
-Continued fighting near Souran/parts of western Hama as rebel /regime lines froze for a couple of weeks

-Turkish backed FSA continue to push IS out of northern Aleppo in several villages however today IS repelled a Afrin based YPG attack on a IS held village on YPG lines killing 15 YPG. IS as a wildcard can change the battlefield just by defending or not defending certain areas.

-SAA now focused on the eastern Aleppo siege after taking the last rebel held area of Al Assad suburb a couple of days ago. Mainly airstrikes and minor attacks both inside the pocket and outside.

I'm still looking into a few things on Syria like the western Ghouta last stand, Deir Ezzor , eastern Homs and omitted Mosul as it's turned into a slug fest.
>>
>>31976246

Government is an interest group willing to realize their agenda with deadly force if necessary. The government puts the laws into practice, saying "if you don't do this, we'll kill you". That's what government is. Comply or die. So yes, politics and guns go hand in hand, as the guns are there to deny a tyrannical government power over the people.

Guns are used when the situation is dire- not all the time. In Syria, sure, there was political unrest, but severe drought and a million + displaced farmers is what gave Syria a massive army to fuel a civil war.

If the economy of Syria was better, there would likely be no civil war so long as people were kept in some comfort.

> "if you don't do this, we'll kill you"

you are fucking retarded, thats not at all what government is.

is this really what people learn in school where you come from????

to educate whoever is retarded enough to believe you, NO this is not the case. its more like "if you dont follow the laws you have helped to create through years of democratic process you will be put infront of a court of the people and a judge and they will deam what punishment you will face based on the laws.

If you want to live in a democracy you will have to go through the democratic process to change laws and regulations. FFS if you dont understand this our guns are the first thing they will fucking take because right now people are going through the democratic process to limit our gunrights, and if we cant be civil and play by these rules then you and your likeminded are prooving to people that we gun owners are fucking lunatics.

>The American position has been that, out of these many conflicts, we can distill a coalition government to administer a unified Syria. Yet for Syria’s many ethnic and religious groups, a national election is zero-sum. Only one group can win. For the defeated, the outcome could herald genocide.

>Therefore the best way to combine democratic methods and a Syrian state is “cantonization,” or division, of the country into regions that correspond to its component minority groups. The intra-canton elections would reflect the concerns of the groups in each of the various regions. From this, one could move in two directions: 1) A federal constitutional structure for a Syrian state through which a national election with guarantees for minorities could be constructed over time. 2) An off-ramp for Assad, who cannot endure as the leader of unified Syria but could perhaps be given 10 or 12 months to transition first into the Alawite portion of the country, and then out of Syria altogether. In this effort, Russia would likely participate. A workable outcome would be an internal settlement supervised by the now competing outside powers. This, in essence, is what I think Secretary Kerry is trying to achieve.

I agree with you in terms of basic laws like traffic infractions , robbery etc but if a law is passed to confiscate guns it goes beyond vanilla ticky tack laws and is violating my right to self defense, outright threating me for no crime committed. We ain't playing civil anymore.

Lucky with Trump and crew at least in my state we won't go down that road.

nothing is a "inalienable right", the rights we have today are rights people fought for by using logic and arguments. I actually believe that i am right in saying that there is a benefit in having the gun-rights we have here in the US today (CA excluded), not just for us but for society as a whole. If we cant proove this trough the democratic process then we cant really expect people to believe us when we say this. The government is not an elite class of people that control everything and lust to control what we do and how we live everyday. If trump has proved anything its that voting makes a difference and it proves that our democracy still works, even against someone as established in the political climate as Shillary Cunton. The government is, at the end of the day, whatever WE the people choose it to be. We might not always agree with what the people in power say and do but thats when its up to us to go through the same democratic channels to make a change in that. All our rights exist because people actually worked for it, and just showing up somewhere demanding shit by the threat of lethal force IS tyranny. If we did that, BLM would too.

Go back to /pol/ you fucking facist.
>>

>but if a law is passed to confiscate guns it goes beyond vanilla ticky tack laws and is violating my right to self defense, outright threating me for no crime committed. We ain't playing civil anymore.

This did not happen because of the democratic process, the NRA and gun happy politicians were there to represent us, the gun owners. And thats also why Shillary did not win. Many of my gun owning friends that are more liberal and democrats voted trump just because of her gun grabbing ways(not only this but it was one of the many reasons, god i cant stand her). And yes, Trump is surprisingly growing on me and i think he might be a good but silly president.

A lot of reverse justification here my pro-America 5 Star.

The best outcome for America in Syria in 2011 was for Assad to step down. Only in late 2012-early 2013 did that change.

There is a reason Obama didn't bomb Nusra unti mid-2014. And there's a reason he is doing it again even more.
>>
>>31980036
even if you damage the turret, the tank drives away and gets repaired
>>
>>31980082
You might want to look into American politics a bit more. Obama administration was very resistant to going against Assad and took years to cave to (I think) a stupid ambassador to Syria.

Also, the amount of support the US gave rebels has always been a token amount. People forget just how much support America can really give when they want to. Arabs fear US airstrikes more than russians for a reason.
>>
>>31978643
ethnic seperated cantonization is probably the most realistic solution. but these poeples hate each other so this war will wage on for decades and centuries, paused by times of ceasefires but never of true peace. add in all these different foreign interests and voila, you have your lost shithole of a failed state
>>
>>31978277
How do you propose the Russians stop them? Same way that Russians can fly anywhere in Syria. The only way to stop it is to shoot.
>>
>>31980187
The war will continue because they won't be able to agree on what the borders of these cantons should be. If Assad manages to maintain his coalition of minorities and non-jihadi Sunni's, then he will maintain control of useful Syria. The Sunni's won't accept his dominion of so much of Syria while they get only backwaters. Then they have to share the backwaters with the Kurds.

Even if their are breaks in the conflict going forward, they will be just that. Conflict will inevitably flare up as they fight over resources and important ground. As we've seen so far, there is a near infinite supply of state actors willing to fund both sides.
>>
>>31980082
Nope , I remember even the most jingoist talking heads like Col. Ollie North at the beginning of the Syrian civil war not calling for the downfall of Assad but laughing at the back blast from the same Jihadists that fought American forces in Iraq for 8 years. These people were always enemies of the United States, just because they started fighting Assad didn't make them friends.
>>31980135 like this anon said in terms of moderate support from Jordan the US did put in some aid to "FSA" groups but not nearly to the extent pro Assadists claim. They want blame everything on the US? That's fine, it's them in a civil war, not the US.
>>
>>31980749
But that said with real moderate Assad opposition sidelined like you implied it did create a much smarter and deadlier "JFS" organization however they are isolated in the Syrian conflict. The last thing anyone who is pro US would want to see would be those guys crashing the gates of Damascus. Assad's government has a real problem on their hands. Russia is going have to prop them up for years to come.

Not that you can see from that distance.
And they're all obviously in uniform, so unless civilians like to all congregate on the street of an area still part of an active warzone in all matching uniforms that look like the Camo pattern used by most Government forces... Well, I'll let you decide.
>>
>>31980096
Ask yourself how long that'd take
Now realise that it's in a heavily contested zone
And now realise also that there's no factories readily able to repair foreign vehicles anywhere close
Now factor in that the parts that need replacing have to be identified, and ordered
Now they have to arrive from overseas
Now you need people who're able to carry out the repairs.

That tank is out of the war regardless.

Early things worth posting and i'm gone. Shelling/airstrikes in all the usual places as hot areas include eastern Ghouta in general/ western Ghouta last stand city, western Aleppo, Hama, eastern Homs with northern Hama seeing some rebel counter shelling and breaking of a Turkish airstrike on a Afrin based YPG checkpoint with YPG casualties. I am not sure if they were close to FSA or IS lines but the Turkish air force had no qualms targeting them.

Also, I would want to have snipers/observers placed all around and preferably on higher ground, all with radios.

A heavily armoured vehicle that can withstand being FUBARed would be a big plus: it could be used for cover, ramming walls and supporting infantry.

Lastly, real time reconnaissance through a mix of low flying and medium altitude purpose-built drones is a must, allowing fire strikes to be called in rapidly.

Maybe if they can be assured that Trump won't do anything about it and can keep Nato in line, depends on if Putin thinks the Russian public will let him get away with it. I doubt they would use regular troops, probably Spetsnaz to directly support regular SAA offensives. Basically just an expansion of their non-combat role without having to worry about the mess involved with large combat deployment, like what the US is doing. I would say they are probably already doing this, but there hasn't been any evidence of it that I know of.

So, your father is 6 yo?

Truth is, Ruskies simply lacking any real experience in carrier operations. The previous generations of pilots that had some hours flying from deck under the belt are either retired or dead and newbies don't have a fucking clue what their are doing. Keep in mind that 100th Independent Carrier Fighter Regiment that is stationed on Kuzniecow was formed on 1st Dec 2015 in Yeysk (Black Sea) and first carrier landing was made only on 8 August 2016.
This, with typical russian disregard for rules, procedures and safety means that we most probably will see more crashes like this

India has warned Russia for years that the Mig-29k is too unreliable to be used for combat operations.
>>
>>31996160
That's a pretty dismissive attitude to jet costing 40m+.
It gets more significant given Russia is looking to encourage military exports with its Kuznetsov showcase. Planes falling into water isn't confidence-building.
>>
>>31996392
Thats kinda like if the Saudis would warn the USA that the M1 is a shitty tank because they lose them by the dozens.
>>
>>31996398
But the Saudi's never said that. India said that the engines in the Mig-29k are so bad that their serviceability is between 20-40 percent.

That has nothing to do with battle tactics.
>>
>>31996415
>if

The point is, you can't trust mud people.
>>
>>31996420
Uhhhh I would trust the Indians. If they are saying that they have to reject 40 percent of the jet engines coming direct from Russia, then the real rejection rate should be around 60 percent.

The accident today only reinforces that.
>>
>>31996398
India has voluminous experience with a variety of military aircraft from several nations.
Anyone buying a product for hundreds of millions is a vote of confidence. And anyone complaining once they have it is a serious knock against it.
I'll take the word of people enmeshed in India's defense establishment over an anonymous rando on the internet. The crash today gives further credence to their disappointment.

you must have been one of those posters who a year ago when Russia first intervened said "The rebels are finished the war will be over in a month."

Why wasn't the war done in a month or three? Turns out all sides in this ground war are truly incompetent, and thus even if the SAA keeps advancing at pace, which is a big if, the rebels will still be around and kicking for at least 1 year if not 2. Further, things will get very interesting once the FSA backed by Turkey takes Al Bab. because at that point the FSA will have a choice continue fighting ISIS and ignore the SAA, or attack the SAA and liberate Aleppo, or attack the SDF. I for one am interested to see which direction this war takes.

The FSA with Turkey's backing is probably not going to submit to SAA control, or Kurdish control. While the SDF won't accept SAA of turkish FSA control. The SAA may very well end up accepting a partitioning of Syria such that only the portions in Syrian hands right now end up as part of Syria, or this war will again devolve into a battle Royale. PS: I'm hoping for the battle Royale!

it's because people who are good at propaganda usually have some kind of emotional investment instead of being dumped on the job with a checklist of things they have to include.

they are also constrained by public image, can't promise combat because it's not ok to want combat, can't promise action or challenges beyond a shitty obstacle track.

ISIS knows what it's recruits want, which is live action MLG footage.
