it's so bad it's good as far as the actors and weapon props go
>>
>>31965905
dont movies and tv shows have like military or police weapons experts to tell them how do to guns right? i could do a better job of making them accurate. i get things like ricks signature revolver holding style being wrong but why do nobody characters do things super wrong without being corrected.

i feel like they know about us and do it on purpose.

also have you used a crossbow before? they're super loud and slow deryl, not a good zombie weapon.

Not a TV show, but in his book The Stand, Stephen King has a scene where what he calls a "recoiless rifle" is fired point blank in a small room with no harm to the operator, but that's nothing. This "recoiless rifle's" operation is described like a giant shotgun that fires a buckshot. Let that sink in for a sec. King is probably the most weapons and tactics-illiterate tree-hugging gun-grabbing hack ever to walk upon this Earth.

Being a hippie and a libtard has little to nothing to do with his competence, which is the topic of this thread. King is terrible - and I mean it - terrible with firearms. One common example of that is that throughout his books he designates all SMGs, GMPGs, LMGs and occasionally rifles and carbines as "machine guns". The is a hack, but some of his early books aren't that bad. Ironically, Gunslinger is probably his best book, and it is consequentially the best in terms of firearm depiction accuracy. For example, he goes to lengths to talk about how rare firearms and general functioning technology is centuries after the Apocalypse, and mentions that the protagonist's revolver round have been reloaded many times. Then again, The Gunslinger also fires akimbo and uses "reloading tricks" to rapidly reload his guns, which I can only assume are some kind of percussion or single-action revolvers.

Which isn't wrong, every gun that is capable of full auto fire is a machine gun. Glock 18? Machine gun! SMG, sub machine gun, right? Other than that, there are some inconsistencies in the classification of (sub) (machine) guns ayway. What I'm saying is I guess I don't care about shit like that, I care about easily reasearchable, black and white, shit like

Yes it does matter, when the only characteristic he often gives to his select-fire weapons is being a "machine gun". A "machine gun" in his books can be anything from an MP40 to an M240. That's a little bit too fucking vague.
>>
>>31967016
ok, his world building sucks for gun oriented people. it's a common theme. remember when in Die Hard 1 the Glock was a cermic composite polymer gun that can get through air port security and metal detectors? the bing lesson to take away here is that king seems to be a race baiting shitbag so don't buy his crap. pirate it if possible and spread it around to deal maximum damage to his purse.

This is actually a trend among the majority of American writers, actors and directors. On YouTube, there is a montage of actors like Leo deriding guns and gun owners juxtaposed against ultraviolent action films they played main roles in.
If these people weren't hypocrites and put their money where their mouth was, they would either shut the fuck up or stop playing roles in films that openly glorify war, gunfights and violence. But that wouldn't look too good on their resume now, would it? Because action, violence and death in glorious battle is what everyone wants. Suppress it or not, it is in our blood. So it was in the beginning; so ever it shall be.

What would a showdown in Manila really be? One guy talks some shit about another guy, so he keys the other guys Nissan Sentra, then that guy screws the other guys sister, then everyone goes to 99 ranch market in Daly City.

Lots of shows/movies have advisors, doesn't mean they listen to them, or even ask them questions. There was a Youtube video of a historian who said he had a historian friend on a movie where he was asked only one question by the production team-if the banner carried by the infantry would be at the front, or middle of the column. The advisor replied the pattern they were using for the banner was a cavalry banner.
