The Five seven because it's smaller and lighter, you can carry more ammo, the ammo is cheaper and more available, and the FN won't be a jamomatic that needs a gallon of lube to stay "Functional" enough.

.50AE is gonna dominate 5.7 any day of the week, so there's no real contest in that.

However, both are well within the minimum penetration to be useful calibers to kill, so while .50AE will always top 5.7, at the end of the day I'd rather use the FN gun because its a better all around gun.


You should carry a different gun though btw, like a Glock 19, a Sig P320, CZ 75, etc.

not too fucking loud, either. maybe it just seems that way with earpro, but i feel like if you had to use it for self-defense, you would be able to have a conversation with the police afterwards without feeling like you had cotton brushing against your eardrum

CCing a .45 is bad enough, a .50 as a cc weapon would be ridiculous and cumbersome. You can prolly do it but would be mighty uncomfortable.
