and the thing above the clips is a loader that attaches to top of magazine to load mags with clips

Rectangle part is for holding of the cartidges mostly 10. Small spoon is for attaching rectangle part to magazine. Put cartrige in clip, put spoon on magazine, put clip in spoon, push cartriges into magazine. Faster than 1 at time.

your hands. sometimes ammo comes already on clips but otherwise youll have to load them yourself. clips are cheap and as you can see by the thread, can be very fast to load. for this reason some guys prefer to store their ammo on clips instead of loose or in factory packaging.
