That's literally the only way you can learn it. You memorise it.

Might be easier for you to learn it along with a language that uses it, but that's harder because you also have to learn a language. There's some manga guides to different alphabets, not sure if that will help.

I just learnt it by rote memorisation, doesn't take long really. Later learning a language that uses Cyrillic really helped to cement that knowledge though, especially with handwriting.

It's a scratch built bolt action.
Made via cottage industry somewhere in Pakistan.

The gas tube is empty and the rear sight block is a solid chunk of steel.
I've seen photos of a few others, and gas blast isn't an issue with these rifles.

This. Perhaps they just took an SVT-40, lopped off the barrel by a ridiculous amount along with the gas system, put a PPSh-41 (or at least a PPSh-41-style) barrel shroud (shoulder thing that goes up) on the stump barrel, and thus made it a straight-pull SVT-40 Obrez... with a PPSh-41 (-style?) barrel shroud. A brief look at some PPSh-41 pics makes me think that it's a legit PPSh-41 barrel shroud though, and not merely a barrel shrowd custom made to LOOK like that type of barrel shroud. With the lack of rear sight however, I doubt that front sight is much use, but then again the firearm itself isn't much use in terms of accuracy as it is. I think an SKS-45 would be better if converted to this Obrez configuration; less wrist destruction.

Yeah, it probably sucks hard, even if it doesn't look all THAT... I was going to say bad, but then I noticed how very high the rear sight is vs how very low the front sight is. Does the shooter use the top of the front sight hood to aim with? Is the rear sight set for like 500m or something? I'm rather confused... but yeah, it looks like it would be REALLY shitty to shoot.
