Is there a single time in ww1 where there was at least one guy with bullet proof armor and carrying a maxim, or is this all made up? If they used fully animated experimental m1903 pedersen devices, then there must be some truth to this.

They experimented with armor similar to that.
It wasn't successful because it was stupid heavy, blocked FOV and limited mobility. They definitely weren't carrying a fucking Maxim around.
How stupid are you to think this was legitimate?

No that totally happened everything in battlefield 1 is 100% authentic right down to the character designs, skins and weapons

Chucking on steel plates wasn't as common as you'd think, but it does have a history: Ned Kelly, etc. It did have a brief history in rnd in wwi, and some prototypes were thrown into battle, but there was all sorts of problems, weight, mobility, damage threshold etc.
Where do you think space marines came from
>carrying this shit

It's the WWI equivalent of a guy stomping around in an EOD suit and a minigun. So no.

I had the same thought the first time I got one of the armored suits. Shit isn't armor, it's POWER armor.
...I may have yelled "AD VICTORIAM" at my screen at least once during the first Italian campaign mission. (And yeah, I know, FO is the lame choice compared to 40K, but it just felt so damn much like FO4 PA.)
