Well do you see the big ass latch that is clearly visible in the first pic you posted, complete with a skid mark that screams "I come up for some fucking reason"?
Just flip it up and then wiggle the pin out of the receiver. Then the dust cover comes right off.

I had one on there when I bought mine. Either just unscrew the top rail to get rid of it, it off you want a normal cover, but a surplus one off eBay.

You gotta take the magazine/trigger guard out first and then take the stock off.

THEN your receiver cover will slide off.
