First off, I am always looking to hand a casualty off to somebody who knows more than me. That's rule one. Realistically in an emergency which is anything less than 100% SHTF social collapse, that's going to happen. Quik Clot can cause issues with that.

That aside, the impregenated gauze doesn't appear to provide much more usefulness. You fingerbang gauze into a transitional area wound nice and tight anyway and slap some pressure on it which will do all the good it needs to.

Treated gauze also limits versitility by making it unsuitable to deal with head, specifically eye injuries.

Just my take though.

The snakebite suit is a higher quality insulation material that is sanwiched over a gap material. Their video actually is a pretty good DIY instructional.

And most modern soldiers aren't currently rolling out with any kind of personal thermal camo. Insurgents mostly use social camouflage (look like they are doing something legit) or taking advantage of shit weather. Prepared anti-thermal fortifications are a thing for them, but that was more back in 2001 invasion times.

My reason for liking the occlusive seals, particularly hyfins is that they pack up well and can easily fit into a small pouch. The packaging is more secure than something like an Asherman. It's easy to fit 4 of them in a GI medical pouch without being stressed.

If you have a factory vented seal like an Asherman, by all means use it if you got it.

I'm not a medical expert, so I always feel the need to qualify my answer with the fact that I always prioritize handing off a casualty to a real expert. No matter how much hippocket you get, it doesn't make you a doctor.

Anyway, IFAK is pretty standard- multiple occlusive seals, 1 TQ on the pouch (more all over the kit), buddy tabbed medical tape, Rescue gloves, gauze, ACE wrap, decomp needle if you know how to use it, hands free light source, medical sheers.

Additional "non trauma" kit with headache meds, tweezers, antibiotic cream, salt, sugar, and more tape and gauze.

Larger kits scattered around with more of the same + split and cravats. Pictured is a truck kit/range kit.

Fuckload of water to prevent/help heat injuries which are honestly most common.

I got the hyfin vented seals which have a footprint slightly wider than a deck of cards so it fits well in even small ifaks. I used to carry halo chest seals gently folded in half thinking "If it's sealed the fuck up air can't get in anyway" but I'd rather carry smaller and lighter seals that can still work, and if i do need to seal them i can tape the shit out of them, and I figure if there's more wounds or larger wounds than the two seals allow me then there's not much i can do anyway
