Why are we burgers so bad at light armor?
If we were good at everything then all the other Nations of Earth would be jealous.
completely fucked procurement system that doesn't let the army just go get something immediately at low cost.
Same reason slavs cannot into APC's I reckon.
>>31932749
That is actually a pretty good light tank, it can fire rockets out of the barrel
>>31933671
>BMP

fuck outta here
THE SHERIDAN IS BASED AS FUCK.
To this day it can kill any MBT with its FUCKHUEG missiles, and to top it off its fucking AMPHIBIOUS.
Shut your mouth OP.

Fuck this. Main battle tanks all the way.

It's incredibly unreliable, including the missile.

73rd cav fag here.
Used to be 73rd armor before our sheridans got taken away
>>31934227
except we saw in panama that half of them are destroyed upon air dropping
>>31933994
>To this day it can kill any MBT with its FUCKHUEG missiles
The missiles were so bad that they were never even issued to combat units.
There's still half a million of them sitting in a warehouse somewhere, doing absolutely nothing.

Well, i am anon...

The NVA had plenty of armor, anon. And besides, the Shillelagh was even rejected when the last of the Sheridans were deployed in Iraq. "Nearly half a dozen" missiles were fired at bunkers, to little effect.
>>31932878
they already are
As I understand it, firing the Sheridan's gun would knock the guidance system for the missile out of alignment, making it useless.
With any luck, pic related, or something similar, will be put into service so our airborne troops have some sort of organic armor support.

The LAV-25 is a reconnaissance vehicle that can't even fit a full squad inside
The main variant of a Styrker is mostly an infantry carrier and lacks anything more than a 50 cal
As for the video, you see all those guys walking around, 80% are humvee dismounts and didn't ride a brad into there

whats the grunt capacity of a stryker with cannon?

M1128 MGS? Zero, because there's a fucking huge autoloader in what used to be the crew compartment.

so in short, US military doesnt have an ifv that can carry a squad

Which is why there are upgrade programs across the board. They just got out of fifteen years of insurgency where the entire development focus was on MRAPs, they're only just looking back in to conventional warfare.

If I recall correctly, its only successes involved being a fire support bitch* for the infantry. But I'm open to being proven wrong.
To offer an analogy: saying that a tank was successful because it did OK as an assault gun, is like saying WW2 battleships were successful because they shelled beaches and added some AA firepower to fleets. In both cases, big investments ended up filling out secondary roles and thus never achieved their theoretical potential in their respective primary roles, the primary roles that justified the cost to begin with.
