Is it true that Assassins use revolvers? Or is this just movie bull
>>
True assassins only use revolvers because revolvers never malfunction.
>>
>>31932708
1. Bullshit
2. The only reason to use a revolver as an assassin is because they don't automatically eject any spent casings.
>>
>>31932689
Some criminals prefer revolvers because they don't throw shell casings around; less evidence.

However, I've only ever seen video of one true professional assassin and he used a suppressed .22lr pistol.

Walked in holding some yellow flowers, pulled it out and shot the guy in the head point blank and left.
The whole thing took like 3 seconds start to finish.
>>
>>31932689
>>31932708
The primary advantage is keeping positive control of the spent casing.
>>
>>31932751
I've seen that one.

for people who haven't seen it. the yellow flower hitman
>>
>>31932990
Damn.
>>
>>31932689
Movie bull. How do you trace a spent casing that has been cleaned and oiled? From a popular round bought or stolen across the USA? Trace a bullet? From a stolen gun? And/Or bought on the black market? Paid killers need firepower sometimes also. They can end up dead.
>>
>>31932689
suppressed .22 is the way to go.

small
almost no noise at all
no recoil
.22 is a surprisingly deadly round

worst comes to worse, poison the .22 round to make sure of a kill.
>>
Hitmen always use .22 because they shoot people in the head and the .22 just bounces around inside the skull, scrambling the target's brain and killing them quicker.
>>
>>31933266
dem meeh mehhs
>>
>>31933182
Rifling and metallurgy seem to be popular in tracing bullets.
>>
Next your gonna tell me mercury doesn't actually make bullets explode
>>
>>31933236
Only from short range. Too far and it won't pass through bone.

Also poisoning your bullet with something that will survive the shot and work with such a small dose? Too easy to trace.
>>
>>31933266
There's a story about a real life cop (Australian I think) that had that happen to him and it missed everything despite bouncing inside his skull
>>
>>31932751
He wasn't a pro if he did it near a camera. It's always better to do it will the target is moving, too. It looks less premeditated than shooting him at his fucking desk.
>>
>>31933490
just fill a cavity in the nose of a bullet with mercuric cyanide. nasty stuff that will easily survive the shot and is an easy thing to make.
>>
>>31933182
fingerprints from when you loaded it, duh
>>
>>31933120

It seems like the ability to do that casually is what makes a good hitman.
>>
>>31933585
Any murder that isn't related to robbery, bar brawl homicide, manslaughter or violent progression of rape, is pre meditated, for the most part.

Committing the kill in a place with a camera is s bad idea but doesn't mean all that much. It's not hard to distinguish robbery from homicide, simply by location. It's more effort to hide the evidence and dress it all up to make it seem legit than it is to do the deed at convenience and hide your tracks.
>>
>>31932990
gotta respect a pro
>>
>>31933653

And if you don't have a criminal record and have not gotten fingerprints taken? What will they match it too?
>>
>>31933448
>Rifling and metallurgy seem to be popular in tracing bullets.

Only in TV shows. Rifling is not as unique to any one specific firearm as film and tv make it out to be.
>>
>>31933704

This, those TV shows only want to fool the public into thinking forensics is super effective so people will commit less crimes.

>TFW you realize that everything media related is designed to change how you think about a particular topic.
>>
>>31932751
Wrong, if i remember right it was a theif ring thing in russia. They did shit like that to much and to obviously and got caught.
>>
>>31933748
It's also because they need to make forensics look exciting and not consisting entirely of painstaking, dull work of collecting evidence and properly documenting crime scenes before sending everything to an off-site lab for results in a few weeks, or months, that will more than likely be used to corroborate the witness statement or self-incrimination that lead to the perpetrator's arrest.

lol no:
This is one incredibly brutal CCTV video from Russia. A man holding a bouquet of Yellow Chrysanthemums in his hands walks into a wedding and jewelry salon at Butyrskaya Street in Moscow, casually asks the owner behind the counter "Кaк дeлa?" (How Are You?) then pulls a gun out and shoots the man in the head at close range, followed by another headshot for good measure. Just for the pleasure to kill.

Yellow Chrysanthemums (жeлтыe хpизaнтeмы) have recently become notorious in Russia thanks to their uncalled for, cold blooded murders perpetrated on innocent civilians. The gang gained their moniker thanks to their calling card -- a bouquet of Yellow Chrysanthemums they carried with them when they committed murders.

After three weeks of living a life of crime as a leader of Yellow Chrysanthemums, 37 year old Sergei Balikhina -- the murderer in the video, was eventually arrested and is facing a life sentence.

The Yellow Chrysanthemums consisted of 3 men -- 2 are in police custody, one committed suicide unable to bear the blood of an 8 year old child on his hands. This happened after gang's first triple murder in which they killed a businessman and then entered his house to finish off his wife and child. The death of the child was too much for one of the gang members to handle, those some speculate that he took his own life to avoid getting locked up for life.
>>
>>31933448

Rifling doesn't mean shit. If you got a lawyer who knows half his shit, he can easily get that dismissed.
>>
>>31933701
Well no chl holders or former military then.
>>
>>31933701
DNA from you breathing on it
>>
>>31933748
not entirely, some things are just feel-good reinforcement of popular opinions
it is mostly true, but a lot of that is because the same angles and facts over and over is boring, even when it's true
>>
>>31933701

They do take a fingerprint at the DMV for one thing, ya nob.

I'm pretty sure we all have our fingerprints stored away somewhere, being aware of it is a different matter.
>>
>>31933448
Trace the bullet to where? This round was made by Remington.Sold in 2000 Walmarts, gun stores, online, stolen?
>>
>>31933653
Time to clean and oil your rounds.
>>
>>31934433

What bullshit state do you live in? The DMV has never taken my finger prints. The only time I've ever had my prints taken were when I was arrested and when I applied for my CCW license.
>>
>>31933490
I dropped a 200 pound hog with a .22lr at 400 yrds. went through his skull just fine
>>
>>31934783
>And you're posting from your phone while you gut the hog and mount it's tusks on your trucker cap.

One more shot placement meme before bed plz daddy.
>>
>>31933182
they can match extractor marks and firing pin marks to a certain model of gun, even that can be bad depending on the state
>>
>>31934783
bull fucking shit
timestamp that shit, I want to see your pig, your rifle, and your gun
>>
>>31933704
Rifling can be used to identify weapons with specific characteristics such as button or polygonal rifling, twist rate etc. These characteristics can narrow down the list of murdergats, but that's about it unless they get the actual murder weapon and the owner was dumb enough to not clean his shit after murdering somebody.
>>
I thought they were favored for concealment because they can be pocket fired.
>>
>>31935289
simplicity, reliability, aesthetics, nostalgia

and when it comes to assassins, it is the casings thing

Be pretty embarrassing desu
>>
>>31935258

It still wouldn't do a whole lot of good. They might be able to tell the murderer used a Glock 17, or M&P9, but good luck finding a person on that info alone. Only thing I can see that info helping is the court case to convict the already captured suspect.
